I'm in New Zealand for the next 12 months so needed some means of getting around. There's a really weird mix of cars here with a lot of 70's and 80's stuff still knocking around and in remarkably good condition. Anyone I had to go halves with the mate I'm travelling with so the end result had to be somewhat of a comprimise. If I'm honest we wanted something that wasn't available in the UK so restricted our search to the Holdens, Fords and numerous obscure large Jap saloons. So for a fraction over £2000 we picked this up:

It's a 1994 Holden Commodore Berlina (the luxury one) so that means 3.8 V6 and rwd. Sadly it is an auto but big cars with proper gearboxes are very hard to find over here. It has an HSV kit but isn't one, hence why I wasn't so sure on it (kindof says replica to me). Still it goes fairly well and handling is pretty decent for a car this size. Really wanted a Ute but that wouldn't be so practical. Enjoy!

Nice work there Mr Creep. That first pic, if i'm honest, and I don't know why but there was a hint of Lotus Carlton about it.

Looking good! It does look more like a HSV model with all that kit on though. Should be a good old bus for 12 months smile

Mmmmm Sporty! Still, very comfy and loads of legroom in the back, in fact probably the most of any car I've been in. A massive 16mpg on a run today, good thing fuel is cheaper over here...........

Aye, my first thought was Lotus Carlton as well! smile

There's a great range of cars over in NZ - I love all the old European stuff, which is usually in great condition, plus here's a lot of Aussie type stuff, big old buses with V8s!! biggrin

I would presume that car IS related to the Carlton? Same/similar floor pan, similar body pressings?

Just as the later models were related to the Europen Omega?

Looks fun though, love the slatted window!
