First car(s)- MG ZR
Discussion
Just thought I would put up some photos of my car!
This was the first one we bought; A 1.4 105ps
This one was rather short lived, bought it on a friday, broke down on sunday
Got our money back from the dealer and went on the search for another!
So we picked this one up last weekend;
Nicer alloys too - Straights
Running smoothly so far, except from a flat battery last night!
Still a learner so haven't exactly had a chance to wring its neck off! but i'm really enjoying it and its a pokey wee motor.
And yes its a rover, it will fall apart and its headgasket will rape me.
Thanks
Edit: fixed my photobucket buggery

My driving instructors car was a MG ZR, It was a joy to learn in but didn't want to have one for my first car due to the stigma it has earnt it's self over reliability.
Nice car though and his car had 80+k on it when I learnt to drive in it without any HF failure, ran on LPG since new.

This one is sat on 30701 miles at the moment. Apart from a crashy ride on very bumpy roads its fine, no big creeks or rattles and very easy to drive Nice car though and his car had 80+k on it when I learnt to drive in it without any HF failure, ran on LPG since new.
Looks rather nice too IMO
It might rattle but it shouldn't fall to bits. The headgasket will be fine if the cars been looked after and you continue to look after it - don't thrash it when the engines cold and check the coolant level often. The 1.4 litre cars are much better than their bigger versions regarding HGF. Underrated cars really, if a bit dated - fancy a ZS myself

so the 1st breakdown didnt make you consider another car?
well your choice, and it certainly looks better in the grey with those wheels too.
nice 1st car.
Nope not at all. Looked at a few other things but I just want the MG very happy with it.well your choice, and it certainly looks better in the grey with those wheels too.
nice 1st car.

Nice car to be starting in is that (and please don't take offence to that!) - a nice first step onto the warm/hot hatch ladder.
I remember when i'd be working about 6 months, was late 2001 and Rover had just re-introduced the MG range. I called in at my local dealer and realised that (at 18 yrs old) i could afford one, albeit a bit of finance/HP and i could insure one fairly reasonably. I also spent a good few months telling every girl i met in bars and nightclubs that i was buying a brand new MG - it just sounded good.
Never got one though, stuck with my Pug 106 1.1 Zest2, then swapped it in for a GTI.
