Hi all,
I have just purchased my 1st vauxhall calibra.
It is totally original.
No modifiacations at all.
It is an automatic which ive never had.
I was so nervous before driving it, I dont know why now, it cruises along with no effort at all.
I should have it for the rest of my life now I only travel about 6-7k a year and with only 48k on the clock what more can i ask for smile
It is in immaculate condition.
I havnt got any pics of it yet but I most certainly will have.
If you are an owner or have owned one and have anything youd like to tell me about them please feel free to contact me.
Thankyou
Karen

Well it's not too intimidating here. There are a few idiosyncracies (speeling?) of this forum that you'll pick up.

As long as you don't do 'txt spk m8' you'll be fine.

My wife had one of those.

It was stolen one night, filled up locally without paying, spent an hour in a restaurant car park nicking stuff from cars, then unloaded into a Transit five miles away and left it.

The wife's junk was dumped in the car park...

Which was nice...

As she'd just left me...smile

Deep joy and merriment ensued...smilesmilesmileyes

Hello and welcome to Pistonheads. I'm pleased you like your car. I test drove a few of these cars, with this engine. The cars all had terrible, "dead" handling. I think they stopped making/selling them in 1999, or something like that, so they are starting to show signs of age. I'll be honest, I didn't buy one; I thought that they were terrible cars. When you say, "what more can I ask for?", I hope that this is a rhetorical question?

Hmm@RichBurley, take it easy, not really called for...

Hi Karen, enjoy the car, only 48k and automatic means it's probably very unlikely to have been abused! Enjoy smile

Cangrats on your purchase of a Cavalier Coupe.
All important question, is it the Redtop or the black top Ecotec engine?

revenge is sweet eh?
i always say, what goes around comes around,
im still waiting for the revenge to happen on my ex, if it wasnt for him id be 70k better off
How was i to know he had debts up to is eyeballs which id end up paying on the mortgage id had on my own for 10 years.
Id be rolling in it now if it wasnt for him.
Ive met my perfect match now though, we may not be financially well off, but id choose happiness over money anyday

I actually bought the car off my partner for half the price he could have sold it for, ive added him on the insurance so we can both enjoy it, hes looking for a 2.5 v6 at the minute, hes got a celica which he is going to sell once he finds his dream car. The one i now have is in immaculate condition, no signs of rust or anything. Im getting few looks as im driving along lol

I know it hasnt been abused, it sailed through the mot and my partner used to work for the AA and has owned these cars years so he knows a good car when he sees one. Im loving it

It was a great looking car when it came out. I remember really wanting one of the 4x4 turbo ones. They were supposed to be quite quick IIRC.

It still looks like new now and it is quick, I cant believe how cheap I got the insurance for either, its not a great deal more than my kia 1300 £219 fully comp
