Hi everyone I am new to the site and thought I would pop up some pictures of my 306 GTI6 Track car I dont have alot of mechanical knowledge but I am giving it a go with some help for my frineds so be gentle.

This is just a brief over view of whats been going on so far.

306 Track Car build (Project Rat Racer)

Story so far

Well this is the first track car I have ever had let alone attempted to build from scratch so its a bit of a learning curve for me so be patient,

The car started life as a Peugeot 306 Style D at some point in time it has had a full GTI6 conversion, Brakes, Suspension, Engine 3rd Gen Front and Rear End and Interior, the car has been fully converted and the DVLA are aware as the previous MOT'S Show it as a 2L Petrol.

A good friend of mines bought it from ecosse they had it as a trade in with a running problem for £950, At First they thought it was the head gasket or cracked block as the car would start with a good jump and battery then over heat then cut out, so they dropped it off at his house and it has pretty much lay there for nearly a year as the time he did not have a license or time to fix it, been nagging him for a while to sell it to me and got a text a few nights ago saying it was mines for £600 after a bit or bargain hunting we agreed a price biggrin

Picked it up Saturday night and towed it up to a mates house on the way up cranked it over and it ran rough as hell losing compression, so got it in the garage and left it till Sunday.

I am not mechanically minded but i know enough to get me buy and I am always willing to learn and I have a good bunch of friends to help me through the build along with advise and full track set up going to be performed buy KR TUNING.

I will keep this as up to date as I can.

Looks like a dedicated project- well done.

Get yourself a 2nd hand engine, get on track and enjoy yourself.
