Looks cool - suppose you can drive it properly with the fuel prices out there
Yeh, fuel price is not a problem at about 1 pound per gallon. The roads around Dubai aren't great for spirited driving though: they're pretty much all big and straight. You can find decent roads if you're willing to travel a bit though.simonej said:
Very nice, they're really starting to appeal to me! Does it not get covered with dust and sand out there, or is it not too bad?
Aye, it gets very dusty, very quickly. I've got an underground carpark at home but at work i need to park on the street so it doesn't stay clean for long. Those building in the background look ace! Ian the golf looks really smart - what was the list price of one of those new out in dubai? The only reason I ask is because I remember reading on here a little while ago that a brand new 911 turbo is about £65k and the Carrera S was about £42k. Is this true?

Why do cars always look better with foreign plates on compared to our crappy uk plates!
Looks great car!
Cheers!Looks great car!
I know what you mean about the plates - I think the Dubai ones are pretty sweet. They're pressed steel and they make them up when you register your car. You can't get them made in shops like you can in the UK.

The buildings in the immediate background are in the Old Town district of Dubai. They're designed to be traditional looking but are really only a couple of years old. The big tower is the Burj Dubai which is just mental. My car cost 130,000 Dirhams. The current exchange rate is about 6:1 but when i bought it the ex rate was about 7:1. I'm sure you can do the maths but, roughly, the R32 cost me about 18K sterling at the time of purchase. The changes in the ex rate mean that it would be dearer (in Sterling terms) now.
I got pretty much every option bar Satnav. Even heated seats !

Very nice, looks good in dark blue as opposed to the lighter blue that I've got. Those buildings look amazing!
I think the DBP looks better in the UK where you don't have the sunlight that you've got over here. The Shadow Blue that I've got really responds well to bright sunlight - the depth of the colour really shows.mcbook said:
