I've owned this car now for 15 years and after sitting in my garage for over 6 years I decided to get it back on the road.

Where do I begin, I'll let the pictures do the talking for the time being..........

At the garage waiting on the first day after fitting a new battery

Several month's later and a massive engine overhaul/brakes/suspension/tyres and a quick wash....

A few small upgrades inc a new tech 2 370mm wheel, Becker head unit with bluetooth...

Monday just gone I had a BTB 6 branch stainless steel manifold and full ss system fitted...

It's gives a rather tasty sound smile

I've just dropped it off at BMW for the bodywork and a full respray, I'm hoping it will be looking factory fresh when it comes out.

This is the last stage needed for it's completion, long time to get this far but worth it, more pics to follow....

Feel free to comment, good or bad, every one's got an opinion, thanks for looking.

Beautiful looking car. Bet it sounds sweet with that exhaust system! Good luck getting it up to scratch and on the road.

It was a dealer fit option for the E30 Sport so no pretending going on. If it was an M3 badge then I'd agree.

Very nice, maybe pop an OBC in the dash instead of the clock, can't be expensive

Very nice clean example.

Would get rid of the M badges though... think they chav the car a bit.

You're joking, they look like proper 16inch real Alpinas. Very appropriate.

I have to agree with the "lose the M" crowd - i had one on mine when i bought it, unfortunitely some chav decided to lever it (and a chunk of paint) off with a screw driver before i got round to removing it myself...

Though looking back, the one on mine was in a pretty lame position...

Thanks for the positive replies smile

The M badges are not over kill, it's an M Techinc model - Tech 2 Sport.
It's not an M3 nor will it ever be but just finishes it off nicely, might have a look when it comes out of the bodyshop, with and without wink

I've got the original 15"BBS alloys but I opted for the Alpina's, I wanted to keep the car original and not stray on the aftermarket alloys. The genuine Alpina's cost me £1500 back in 1997 and suit the E30 well.

Why did I keep it locked so long ???? I've been asking that myself, I like my cars and I've had a few over the years but this one was always the special one to me, hence keeeping it for 15yrs.

I also have a E46 320d Sport and a mint E30 316i Touring on a L plate, just recently sold a K plate 318i Cab to fund this project even more, I have a passion for good clean straight E30's wink

I'm sure I would have hated this car when it was brand new, but either I've mellowed with age or the car has matured well... but I either way I really like it. Great to see you bringing it out of hibernation and getting back on the road - will it be an everyday car or weekend toy?

I've thought about it but too much work for little gain.

I've matured too and I want it right, I was 18 when I got this car and at the time it was a daily car....

Fast forward to now and it will be used as an SAS car or when the mood suits on a good day smile

Feel free to flash me over if you see it and have a closer look wink

Yeah, the OBC is fairly useless - the clock is better.
