Hello everyone,

Been a lurker for the last couple of years but finally decided to put a few pictures of what I consider to be my first proper performance car.

First car was a Mini Neon with 12" superlites and a stage one kit. This great fun as you'd expect but had to be replaced by a sensible Peugeot 106 1.1 as, not being mechanically minded but being an 'enthusiastic' 17 year old behind the wheel, it wasn't expected to last long and would have resulted in garage bills way above what I could afford at the time!

The 106 was followed by a 206 1.4 tastefully modified with a GTI kit and wheels plus a full leather interior.

Sorry no pics of the above but in my opinion it only really gets interesting from here...

Student loan was taken out at uni and put to good use to buy this:

Great car to drive if a bit too heavy and comfortable - more of a grand tourer than a sporty hatch.

This was followed by a relatively sensible car which allowed me to crack 16,000 miles on in a year, despite living a mile from where I was studying at the time, and about as cheaply as you can.

Pics below are from a trip me and the girlfriend did over the summer - starting by driving through France to the music festival Benicassim in Spain and taking in the South of France, a bit of Italy and Switzerland on the way back. Great trip and hopefully one of many, so much more fun than jumping on a plane!

And i've saved the best till last. Really wanted one of these when I bought the Seat but couldn't justify it at the time as petrol was £1.30 a litre and I knew i'd be spending alot of time on the M56 that year...luckily i've now got a job where I get the train so I can justify something abit less sensible for the weekend.

Really looking forward to getting it on the track at some point too!

All comments welcome,

Rick
