Well Last time I posted I had this beautiful Z4M Roadster:
Due to the impending arrival of our first baby guttingly the Z4M had to go. It was a fantastic car and easily the most special car I've had the privilege of owning.
Anyway having become a sports car/RWD convert we stumbled on a problem. If your used to having exciting RWD cars what do you do when the MRS is demanding 5 doors but you still want some excitement?
After much head scratching the answer in the end was pretty obvious:
We don't do many miles so the fuel economy although not pretty luckily isnt too much of an issue. Picked this example up with just 25k on the clock. Needed a new set of wheels (botched refurb) which it now has fitted and a bit of a de-gum after being sat under a tree for some time but its now in great shape having had a good clean and polish. Only issue I've had is that I accidentally flooded it (long story) but other than that its great. Brilliant fun (especially in the wet) superb poise and balance. It can feel a bit slow but its just about quick enough.
I was then in the lucky position that following the sale of the beemer I had an empty garage and some cash in the bank. It was never going to stay that way for too long so I went and got my third VX220
Its a 2.2 NA model (the gentelman's VX) with a full 2blar exhaust system and bilstein lowered springs. The engine bay is hiding a little surprise too:
Webcon throttle body conversion
Has about 25-30 BHP over the standard 148 BHP so its more than quick enough. Makes a nice noise too. Just pondering at the moment weather to put it back on standard springs as its a wee bit too hard for the road I think. Other than that I'm totally loving having another VX. They really do get under your skin Having had a ridiculous amount of cars over the last couple of years I think we are sticking with these for a good while now!

Thats a whole other thread! The NA is the better car for me. Out of the box they are far superior to the turbo. I can see the appeal of a turbo if you're using it every day (softer suspension, more torque/power for overtaking) but as a weekend car the NA is a more exciting car. It doesn't even really need the additional power of the TB's in all honesty but they were a bonus
