Morning all! Heres a few pics of my puma over the last 3 years, its a 1.4 (nippy!) 98 reg on a private plate.

I bought her as my 20th birthday present for myself, £4000, slightly over priced!!

Up until last year she remained as above, Id never wanted to change her.
so far Iv had:
New exhust
drop links
suspension arms
puma mats
alloys
New ford centre caps
toyo proxys on the front and will also have them on the back
Clear side repeaters
interior clean
rust repair
bonnet graphics (for fun!!)

to come...
rear bushes
brakes
brake pipes
more rust repair on drivers side
thinking about respraying the alloys white
numerous little bits to replace around the car

Basically Im making it the best it can be without over doing the mods. replacing everything as and when it needs it to keep it running smoothly.

the biggest job this year has been the rust...

it was pretty bad. in all it had rear passenger side arch cut out and replaced, wing mirror respray, front passenger arch sanded back and then almost a full respray on that side of the car. totaling around £1000.

and its all been worth it as now she looks like this.......

Iam as you can probabaly tell, very happy with how its going! so I thought Id show it off abit.

Id also like your opinions on.... White alloys and then the one Im least sure on which is lowering it as everyone seems to tell me I should!

Wouldn't mess with Puma suspension without talking to an expert - probably very easy to spoil it!

Looks like someone tried to put on one of those stick on fuel flap covers and missed:

it does actually!

its an Etnies logo sticker and to be honest its abit random haha.

as for the suspension, I would get it done by a garage if I was to do it, so no worries there but its just the general feel and look it would generate by putting the lowering springs on it that Im unsure about. smoothness of the ride etc etc. Jay with the black puma has it lowered to the extreme and that is a bumpy car to be in.

I really dont want to start modding it too much, I love the look and feel of the car and the drive already. Im not 100% sold on the idea. Im talking myself out of it even more now haha

i'd keep it as it is, stock and in as good a condition as you can keep it in for not much money. imvho £1k in rust repair is a lot on that car that you'll never see again.

if you love the puma, i'd save the cash for lowering/new wheels and start a 'racing puma' fund. they seem to start around £5k and will be a much improved car over a standard+lowered one.

just my 2p. i wish my car was even clean!

I think the red one looks much better than the black one, leave it be in my opinion.

thanks for the comments! his car is the complete opposite to mine, mines standard pretty much and his is geared towards trackdays and car shows. although I also took mine to silverstone last month for the TRAX show where we had a club stand to show a sort of before (my car) and after (jays car)

Any pics of what? haha

1k was a fair amount to spend on a car thats probably worth not much more than 2k but I intend to keep this until I run it into the ground so it was a good investment in my eyes, plus well looked after pumas, with a good mileage on are hard to come by. so thats my plan. spend alot on it keeping it in mint condition and hopefully it will be a future classic biggrin (very much doubt it but we can hope!)

I've only ever driven one Puma it was a standard 1.7 and to be honest I doubt changing the suspension would really improve things much, felt amazing standard.
Fair play keeping the car as nice as you have.

Jeezo, it was a bit rotten before you fixed all the rust!! Look's like the bodywork was neglected before you got it.

Wasn't the Puma one of the best handling cars about when it was released. Tiff Needell loved it.

Personally I think the alloys you took off look far nicer than the later multi-spoke ones. just my opinion though. Well done for not max-powering it.

Leave it well alone lucy and perhaps invest in some good quality detailing products and keep it looking good.

thanks for all your comments smile

yup, I borrow Jays Autoglym products. High def wax is one of the best car cleaning products Iv used! To think when I first bought it I used to use fairy liquid on it!! not anymore Im pleased to say.

Haha!! gosh no, those fan alloys were, imo, ugly. I know the multi spoke look quite harsh but they seem to fill the arches more (even tho they are the same size as the fans)

Enjoy the car though...this is my daily drive and i've had no problems with her

I think she means she paid £4k for it when she bought it, which if I read correctly was 3 years ago?

dont think brembo disks are required on a 1.4, unless you are thinking of changing the engine too?
