Currently in a Bangeromics phase after realising how much cash I'd spent on cars in the past 9 years so thought I'd share one of my old cars with you.

Bought this in 2006 and ran it for 15 months covering 17,000 miles. Only spends were a set of wiper blades and a tyre after a puncture. Only downside was the fact that its a 1.9.... nice noise but didnt really go anywhere biggrin

It was a sad day when I handed her over to the new owner in the office car park, but I had 8750 reasons to be cheerful in my pocket biggrin

I still think the E46 is a great looking car. Also, my wifes is an old nail, but it still has nice balance when driven with some spirit.

That can't be a 1.9, it would have to be a pre-facelift E46 to have that engine.

E46 is my favourite shape 3'er. Aiming for one when I'm 21. That one looks a very nice colour, too.

The 2.0 litre is 1,995 cc so that's probably what he means.

Something I often wondered myself.

51 plate reg'd Feb 2002.

RF51 VFW if you want to check it out.

It was ex-demo plus 1 owner when I bought it BMW approved used from the supplying dealer.

Unless the V5 was BMW spec sheet was wrong...

That rusty bonnet catch caused some fun one week.... can of WD40 with straw intervened biggrin

Just had a look into it, and it seems I was wrong, and what you had there was an exceptionaly rare facelift E46 with the pre-facelift 1.9 engine. The 316i did not officialy exist in February 2002, as the 1.9 model was discont in Summer 01 and then replaced with the 1.8 in March 02, so yours must have been a one-off. I can tell its not a 1.8 because the engine bay would look different.

PS - Sorry for taking the thread off topic!

Va1o, thanks for that - I've not seen any other facelift 1.9s.... wondered why..... the fact its an ex-demo may have had something to do with it, dealer probably got a substantial discount...
