Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce to you the latest credit crunching Flibmobile!

Drum Roll Please...

Ford Fiesta Zetec S
2000 - X
12 Months MOT
4 Months Tax
66k Miles
2 Owners (same family) since new
New pads and discs
4 new tyres all round

I was just testing the fogs worked honest!

Its only a 1.6 (103bhp) so quite a bit less powerful than what I'm used to (Previous cars include the S2000, MR2 Turbo, Impreza....) but I can honestly say it is the most fun I've had on four wheels for a long time!

The handling is sublime and its just so chuckable! It'll def be off on a UK trackday / Ring trip biggrin

Best £900 I've spent in AGES!

I had one of those brand new in 2000. Bought it for myself as a 21st birthday present IIRC.

A fun little thing. I remember loving mine. The only car I used to drive for the sake of it.

Please, please don't kev it up!

I love these really wanted one as my first car, but ended up with a golf as it's lower insurance group and reliable etc. But I really would like a phase 2 ZS in imperial blue. Even better with a 1.7 puma lump in it.

I too bought one of these new back in 2000. Imperial blue.

It was a great little car to throw around.

Great price I've seen these going for 1800 for same year and milage and 3k for a mint 2002 imperial blue with fsh, they have a big fanbase so people will pay good money for them, if you sold that in a year I reckon you might make
money.

That's a fantastic price, how on earth did you get one that cheap?!

I wanted one back in 2003 when I bought a new Saxo VTR but by then the ZS was out of production, there were none left at dealers and 1 year old models would have cost more than the £8.5k I paid for my Saxo brand new with a years free insurance. They're brilliant cars to drive, more fun than stuff that was a lot more money new.

I got tempted by one about a year ago but it turned out to be a dog with a mixed bag of budget tyres, dubious crash repairs and a very tatty interior.

I was offered one with the 1.7 in, but they wanted £2500 for it...

I just got lucky, I was out with my mate picking up some furniture from a guy he worked with, who said "Hey, wanna buy my car £900?"

biggrin

My wife had an ex-demo one back in 2001 - saved £3K under list and it'd done 1,900 miles. Fantastic fun car to chuck around, totally standard apart from an induction kit. Only sold it when our first son arrived.

i had a new one in late 2001 and then another new one in 2002 after rolling the 1st one, bloody pirelli p6000`s.

great cars and you really can throw them around.

personally i think they are leagues ahead of a saxo vtr even though not as quick.

bargain at £900, i think i paid £9000, haha.

This is my current car aswell

and i really love it, as you say you can throw it into corners, especially with some decent tyres on!

Be careful for rust on the wheel arches! other than that a faultless car for me.

Jeez, that is a bargain.

I bought a Phase 2 brand new on a '51 plate, in Imperial Blue with ALL the extras on it (including dealer fit stuff!)... probably one of THE best cars I've owned. Wonder what happened you EY51 VVW..? (I traded it in for a Puma Thunder).

£900 is an absolute steal. I had mine rolling roaded and it was 116bhp, and that 1.6 is a pretty keen engine.

Also my current car. Had it for nearly 2 1/2 years now. Might not be fastest but a lot of fun.

Very cheap deal smile

The reason I never got one is because I had the money for a mint one, low milage phase 2 2002 imperial blue is what I wanted but they were rare in that condition, and one didn't show up by the time I needed a car for work so ended up with a golf. Saw a really nice one subtly modded the other day with a 150bhp+ racing puma engine in it. I think I might trade the golf in after Christmas for one if I can find a goodun.
