Hi guys,

This is my new BMW 118d Msport to replace my old 306 HDi. Its brand new, with a few toys such as the comfort package, elec folding mirrors, 18 inch wheels, titanitum silver metallic.

Really enjoying driving it - it handles so well but the ride is a bit crashy. Plenty of power too, a real step up from the Peugeot. Also i think the M-sport package was a must - things like the m-sport steering wheel, suspension and wheels really improve it. All in all it is a brilliant little car.

Hope you like it.

Mike.

Very nice, I do like theses with the m-sport gubbins! If it were me I'd take the 118d badge off it, rear end would look SMOOTH then!

PS - That little DTC button next to the hazard light switch - opens up a whole world of fun! thumbup

Pushing that after starting the car up should be as routine as putting your belt on!

Though I love old cars, there is something lovely about a brand new shiney car, looks mint, good choice on all the options and colour, although obviously it is completely the wrong engine (135i or bust), however if you're committed to diesel as you must've been to have the Pug HDI then I guess needs must!

Believe me a 135i would be lovely, but sadly im only 19 so the insurance group would be too high. The diesel engine in the beemer is so different to that in the pug - bearing in mind they're both 2 litre turbo diesel lumps, the beemers is so much smoother and there is so much more power on tap its great! Also with the mileage i do, the extra economy of the diesel is important.

The ride will get better with time I can assure you. That's exactly how we felt after we picked up my wife's old 118d, but it just got better and better, espacially when you hit the B Roads. Don't forget with a Bluefin you get get 185bhp out of the engine - it won't invalidate your warranty as you can return the car to the factory settings each time you get it serviced. The car looks great, enjoy.

I had a hire 118D a few weeks ago and it was a pleasure to drive. I didn't have the DTC off but I found it understeered quite heavily around roundabouts etc. Anyway, have fun!

Lovely car there, and it lookes great on the '208' 18" wheels.

We almost bought a 123d M sport 3 door in Red, absolutely cracking car to drive.

Agree about debadging the rear though, get rid of it.

Nice car would look at getting a remap though personally or bluefin if they do can increase power up to 183bhp and 350nm which should make it pretty lively for a diesel smile

Nice car, pretty impressed you have one of those at 19!

I'd agree with the others about debadging.

I'm a convert to the way of BMW 1-series diesels. Very nearly went for mine in the same colour as yours but got Space Grey in the end. You'll have fun in it for certain!

It's very nice, does the job perfectly. I would argue that turning the DSC off doesn't really open up a whole new world of fun on them though?

I had one as a courtesy car, and thought it drove really nicely - 19 year olds car, even better.

Nice, I see you have the upgraded 130i wheels too. Very good.

Be prepared however to be never let out of side junctions again - unless it's by a fellow BMW owner!
