I'm thinking of buying one having raced a 100bhp Caterham for a few years. I'm intending to do virtually nothing but trackdays with it, and so am intending to look for one with as many race "bits" as possible (i.e. cage, extinguisher etc). I'm not too mechanical - oil & filter changes are about the limit of things I'd want to do regularly. My budget will be up to about £10k, including adding a cage & extra seat if necessary. Car would need to be road registered & in good condition.

I'm therefore interested in anyone's thoughts/experiences with them - does it sound like the right kind of car/budget for me?

Thanks in advance

Look for MK Indy or similar if you want something a bit cheaper probably. One just sold on www.locostbuilders.co.uk with an R1 engine, road registered for £8k, beautiful example. MK engineering do builds with various bike engines for customers at prices similar to what you are quoting.
