New Member! Smart Roadster
Discussion
Hi all!
I admit to being a bit of a lurker on the forums for a few months now so I thought it was about time I actually registered.
I have a 2006 Smart Roadster which I love to pieces - corners/roundabouts have never been so much fun! If you've ever driven one you'll know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm gonna get some sort of stick for having a smart, and to be honest with you I'm not a big fan of the ForTwos myself, but the Roadster is a fantastic little motor (for me, at least) and while it may not be the fastest car on the road, it's great fun to drive!

Hello SunnyD, welcome to PH!
I reckon most folk on here are clued up enough to know that your machine, though ickle, is a great little car.. The only bad things I've heard are about the gearbox, an auto/semi-auto type thing? How do you find it?

I'm not going to lie, the gear box lets the car down somewhat. I NEVER drive it in automatic (unless I'm in the mood for the car to dramatically and jerkily change gear at the most inopportune moments) besides, it has flappy paddles; they're meant to be used! So yeah, gear changes aren't the smoothest, but you get used to it, and don't even notice it after a while.
