Its been in the garage for a year and thought I'd bring it out but it also needed a bit of care with it being sat doing nothing.

Off for detailing tomorrow (Thanks Spearsy) to get rid of the minor swirls but its not looking bad for a 19 year old car.

Its a late spec 90 model with a few mods (non chavvy, purely to modernise the car)

Its got:-
  • Bilsteins shocks/H+R springs with eibach ARB
  • Schrick 276/284 cams
  • Remapped and rev limit raised
  • Supersprint centre box with Hartge back section
  • 3.64/1 LSD (give much better use of the power)
  • Racing clutch
  • Lightened flywheel
  • 18 inch M Parallels
  • I have dyno read-out showing 232bhp which isn't bad for a 2.3 non turbo
Might have missed something

I know what you're saying mate, Ive had 5/6 sets of alloys on the car since Ive had it (8 years) and its hard to find something that looks good but also doesn't look out of place. Some after market wheels would look terrible so they had to be proper BMW alloys but also the originals were only 15s so they looked out of place aswell.

The style was on 5,7 and 8 series but I bought 4 fronts as the staggered front/backs would have caused me some problems on the rear arches.

That's nice.

Someone offered me an absolutely mint E30 M3 about 8 years ago for £8k.

I said no because I didn't want LHD.

No-one was to know though mate. I spent 2 years looking for one (8 year ago) and 'good' ones were demanding 7-8k then but you could get an 'ok' one for 5k but no matter what you would have still spent thousands over the years on it. So even if you'd have taken that one it will now stand you at atleast 14-15k and I know some people that have spent more (they usually say 1-2k a year in maintenance).

Good point. I shall remind myself of this everytime I see a black E30 drive past me and I look at it wistfully.

Love the wheels by the way thumbup

You reminded me when I nearly bought a black one, it was in a garage (some bloke selling from home) when I went to look at (and bought) a Golf G60 Rallye about 11/12 years ago. The M3 looked a bit tired but was only up for 4k and I thought the alloys didnt look nice (BBS RS staggered) but thinking about it now the alloys are now worth a grand on their own and a lick of polish the car is worth 12k.

Cheers for the comments

The exhaust tip and the rear lights really let it down, put some standard rear lights on and the twin exhausts as for me that back end really ruins such a lovely car

I agree with both points. Alloys look great though and the rest of the car is fantastic.

I agree. If you dont think they look "chavy" maybe you are the chav!

The wheels aren't to my taste either but I think that is down to personal choice. Other than that lovely looking car.

Can I ask where you got the alloys from? Been searching for some of these style for years for the E36.

Wheels are wrong, exhaust is wrong, number plate is wrong. Otherwise beautiful.

Oh, and the rear lights are wrong too.
