Well, I've replaced the Peugeot with a 1998 Astra with virtually identical performance. It seems I'm not going up in the world just yet.

However, the car is almost as new. 29k in the last 10 years.

Just happens to have one mirror unpainted. Oh well.

No PH sticker yet, maybe soon.

As an aside, does anyone know how to replace the TID at the top of the dash in the Astra G. I have no radio display or clock, since it's just displaying a blank screen. I have to guess which radio station I have one.

Looks to be in fairly good nick for the age - bet the mileage helps with that. Meant to handle quite well too for a family hatch iirc period road tests.

Re. the TID, you could try and clean the rear connectors on the unit using a similar method to this. Or it would be easier to just buy a new unit off ebay. I can't imagine it being too difficult to replace. Have a look at the astra owners club too.
