My 330ci - has just been "detailed"
Discussion
I've only just become aware of "detailing" recently, along with "claying" and "machine correction".
Well I've just had the works done on my 6yr old/90k 330ci and am amazed at the result!
before
after
Getting rid of the swirls and haze has really brought out the colour. Lots more before/after shots showing the correction here: linky
Now I just need some time to correct the stty weeds/concrete driveway

How much did that set you back?

The colour looks great now- much more depth to it. Bet it'll be easy to keep clean now for a few years- the muck'll just slide off

Are those Tarx 888 discs you have on it? If so, whats the pad wear like with those discs?
No, they're from CRN products (but may be the same as a re-branded version). Pad wear is unchanged, as far as I can tell, the grooves don't dig in to the pad. I got them to fix a scary wet brakes problem, all fine now, as the grooves clear the water.War Pig said:
Dumb question I'm sure..
Does the car need to be in a fairly good way to be detailed. For example my car has a fair few scratches, tiny rust spots on the bonnent, and some laccor peeling.
Would the detailer fix this as part of the detail?
Most scratches can be fixed, as long as they don;t go through the lacquer (metallic) or colour coat. Areas of rust and peeling laquer will be avoided by a detailer/valeter I should think, for fear of making it worse.Does the car need to be in a fairly good way to be detailed.
