I've had him (Frankie, a Fiat Punto 1.2 8v Active Sport 3dr) for two years Sunday! Well actually, I've had him for two and 3/4 years now but only passed my test two years on Sunday.

Had 8k miles when 2 and a bit years old, now 37,300 after 5 years! Think every other week about getting something else, but then I think, while 19, do I need anything more than a Punto? And then I think no I don't, because when you fold the rear seats its a tiny van, it has space for 4 normal sized people (i.e. 5'9 and above :P) and when there's just me in the car its plenty quick enough off of slip roads. I love it to bits...

But thinking change will be afoot come next year... Will 6'3 look ridiculous in a Smart Roadster? Next year we shall find out...

P.s. can't work out how to post the bloomin' pictures, sorry. Links shall have to do.

My wife had one the same, a 1.2 8v Active sport in black. It was a good little car for her and only really let down by the lack of power and Fiat build quality. Bits started falling off after about the 1st year.
I personally couldn't drive it very well at 5'11", the seating position was too high and the stereo system was rubbish, the worst I've ever heard in a modern car!!!!
It's a good first car for a 19 year old, without doubt, but once you've driven something which comes under the performance bracket then you'll realise what you were missing.
Have you driven much else apart from the Punto?

Guess I've been really lucky, had nothing go wrong or fall off in the time I've had it. Will agree about the radio though, its rubbish. I've only ever driven my learner car (a diesel Polo, hateful thing) and the Punto, nothing else so don't have any experience of anything different!

I have a Punto 1.2 ELX (Standard 8v jobbie). i love it to bits, i'm like you, every other weekend i think of getting a new car, but then i take it for a drive and i think that its almost perfect for me smile

only problem is that being 6' 2" with the seats all the way back, no-one could fit in the seat behind me
