I've just upgraded from an old Clio to a Puma - and I love it! It's the 1.4 engine, the 1.7 was too expensive on insurance. It drives so well - puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Not the best pics but just wanted to get some up here even though it was raining and muddy!

Good for you Lucy - the lady in my life changed her 1.4 puma to a 1.7 recently, and she loves it too.
a site for you to join; www.pumapeople.com - the good folk there will help you when you need advice etc. Enjoy.

My missus recently purchased a 1.7L Puma. It's a great little car. Pointy chassis and a nice torquey engine. I'm a bit big for it though...

I'm sure you'll love it - they're a cracking drive!

Watch the parts... I considered one last year, but with many spares down to single figures, I decided not to bother.

You mean the racing puma exclusively?

Yes, the FRP. Ally front wings down to about 8 new ones last year. You can replace the Alcons with Brembos, but then the value in an FRP is in originality. No seats or steering wheels left...

How does it drive?

Brilliantly. Was speaking to a guy yesterday who used to have one and now drives an Impreza, a V8 Vantage and a Merc SL. He was raving about the handling of the Puma, and the gearbox etc for a good 15 minutes. Rightly so - it sticks on the road so well and is so fun to drive. You won't regret driving one!

The steering wheels and seats can be retrimmed, the original material (which is all gone now) occasionally pops up for sale on Pumapeople. Plus, 2nd hand parts from written off FRP's are available quite often on Ebay. But there really isn't a great deal left.

Epic cars none the less though smile
