Just got my mk2 back after a full nut and bolt rebuild everything has either been replaced using genuine vag parts or upgared with aftermarket gear.

Enjoy...

Cheers lads, Yeah this is how it looked before i got it

To be fair the car was already very tidy credit to the previous owner, the lads who restored the car have been all over it and couldnt find any rot or rust!

Its also running one of these.......

Soon to be re-mapped to around 280-290 bhp but dont worry all you fwd haters its running a fancy Quaife diff to help get the power down.

Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!
I love it, had a mk2 Golf GTI a long time ago, some muppet rear ended it and wrote it off!
My wife now has a VR6, but was talking this morning about having another MK2 in the family, think you just helped me make up my mind!!

Excellent job, apart from the fashion-victim stretched tyres that spoil it for me.

I must agree with you there as the wheels are 9J's all round i thought i would struggle with space so thought a little stretch would help, it turns out i have a bit more room that first thought so proper fitting tyres will be going on a some point.

Tyre stretching helps stop tyre scrub on very low cars, so is not just fashion!

But surely they wouldn't scrub if it didn't have over-size wheels to begin with? scratchchin

Either way, not criticising - it's his car and his money, I just don't favour mods that sacrifice dynamics for looks. smile

That looks fantastic. I had a Mk2 GTI 3-door small-bumper for years, but always preferred the BB cars.

Big bumpers, the BBS wheels, even the colour is just right. Very nice.
