Hi, I've been on pistonheads regularly having a gawp and a dream at some of the cars in the classifieds. I love 1980's cars (French/German, don't like Japanese cars, not to my taste) and I thought I'd start posting. What better way to post than my car history, which is a bit mixed, although some may say chequered.

First car was a 1981 Ford cortina 1.6 GL (black vinyl roof, 2 spotlights, 2 foglighrts on the front!), then 2 Renault 5 GTTs, a red Nissaan Micra 1.2, a Ford Escort 1.3 Bonus, a Renault Clio 172, a Megane 2.0 Dynamique and I'm currenntly on a Clio 1.6 Dynamique S.

Seeing as I passed my test in 1987, I realise it's not a massive list compared to some, but brushes with Her Majesty's traffic police have curtailed my time on the road for a few years and re;lieved me of a fair bit of cash. Unfortunately down to the antiquated speeding laws we have here, I'm halfway to another ban!!!

Like I said, I love the old 1980s machinery and would love to get my hands on a mint and original 1983/4 Porsche 944, a 1981 Renault 18 turbo or a 1981 R5 Gordini. Not manhy of the latter 2 around and they have to be mint as I'm useless under the bonnet of any car!

Anyway, I hope to have a few interesting discussions on here in the future

The concept of slowing down a bit and/or keeping your eyes peeled has passed you by then?

You're not halfway to another ban because of our speeding laws. You're there because you keep getting caught breaking them.

Yeah, just a tongue in cheek comment, mate. I didn't realise anyone would take it seriously. You didn't, did you?
