Hello,
Thought (against my better judgement) I'd post some pictures up if my car! I was given a Rover 416i with a few months tax and mot on it, picked it up and it was a hound, very rotten and the mot was due in 5 days... So I scrapped it, £50 for nothing though so can't whinge!
Anyway, I had a look around on the internet and found that these Rovers were somewhat unloved and as a result cheap, so found a local one, went to see it, and picked it up with 9 months mot (no tax!) for pocket change money!
Here is how she was:
She (Maude) looks in good nick in the pictures, but these don't show the rust and bits of spraying previously done (by Stevie Wonder I believe...). Thought I'd mask off some bits and keep 'em shiny too, why not?!
I purchased myself some Satin Red paint from Fascinating Finishes and set about rubbing down, sorting out the rusty bits, and then give her a going over with a roller - easy I thought...
Not the case!
The masking tape ripped the lacquer off the bonnet, so I re-did that this weekend, and painted the silver bits satin black:
Also painted the headlight covers which were in the boot, think it looks quite cool, but not sure which colour:
Beaded seat covers for a touch more luxury if thats even possible, haha:
Loads more to do including lots of rubbing down (never rollering again!), its just a bit of a fun project to do whilst I've got my brothers garage!

try polishing the pistons, ive heard that gains around 75bhp..
Errm no!It's a cheap car so I figured I'd have some fun with it. My last car was a standard Mk1 Golf Gti Campaign Edition which was in lovely condition which I sold to move up to London, I am in London for a couple more months so need something I'm not too assed about hence this car, and the paintjob - nice and easy to touch up!
Bangernomics makes sense to me at the moment - would love my golf back but the beauty of having a car I don't car too much about and have some fun with is great!

Define 'pocket change money'
Cos that aint worth more pocket money than I got as a kid (£5 a month!)
Enjoy it if its your thing
Haha, slightly more than that but for a car with 9 months mot, a new alternator, starter motor, cambelt, fsh, and a fresh service I thought it was a good price...Cos that aint worth more pocket money than I got as a kid (£5 a month!)
Enjoy it if its your thing

Beggars can't be choosers, and it will keep me amused long enough to save for something nice again
