Hi all,

Been lurking here for a while so thought I'd pop up a few pics of my car.

Made the change earlier this year after running a Mk1 Focus 1.6 for two years. It was a fine car, nothing went wrong but ultimately it was a bit dull.

Bought my first MR2 earlier this year. Sadly it only lasted 4 weeks before some pissed up driver crashed into it parked at the side of the road and wrote it off.

Anyway, the insurance paid up quickly enough (although the excess is still held) and I bought a new one.

Despite all the hassle and trouble, I have been lucky as the new car is in the spec I really wanted, plus it's newer and boasts lower mileage.

I'm really happy with it. I'm learning about RWD, I know it's not 'fast' as such but it's a well-matched package and more than enough to be fun. Plus the relatively low power output (138hp) means it cheap to insurance for a 24yr old.

When you read reviews of the MR2 the major bug bear is the practicality, or to be exact the lack off! For me, it's not been much of an issue. The cubby holes behind the seats are large if a bit of hassle to get too while the front boot can take a holdall or 2. Overall, with the right bags, it's fine for a few nights away.

I must admit, I used to scoff at roof down drivers but I can truly see the appeal now.

My girlfriend has one of those, same colour combo too as it's the limited edition 'Red'.

They are a real blast to drive, so have fun! cool

Mind the cross-winds on the motorway on a windy day though! eek

Best colour combo for sure! Fab to drive, could just do with a little more power in my opinion.

Join IMOC. Few people on there have either turboed their roadsters, or swaped in the 190bhp celica lump.
