This is my recently aquired Mk3 GTi 8v in Dragon Green (the best Mk3 colour in my opinion) I've had it for about a month and it's a great little car.
It's a March '98 car so one of the very last Mk3, needs a bit doing here and there, bit of a project. The shocks were shot so i replaced them with a Jamex kit, was mean't to be a 40/35mm lower but it dropped it more like 60mm! really please with the stance but the VR6 bottom lip isn't going to last long!

i love the mk3's especialy the dragon green ones. here was my project 3 years ago. all done by myself in my little garage apart from the respray.
it then went through a major transformation and i got the car featured in golf+. i retrimmed the whole ineterior, mk4 dash conversion with climaronic and did the engine transplant (audi s3 engine, qpeng management running 280bhp).
sorry for all the pictures, im just proud of myself. :-)
custom made gauge holder too. used a bit of PVC fascia board and hole sawed the holes out. then rough sanded and painted straight with gloss back plasti cote and then laquered on top. (i did buy a pre made 3 gauge holder made of fibre glass off ebay but i was overly disappointed with the mould and the finish, it was shocking, fit for the bin.)
the rest of the dash was done the same gloss black. door card handles, interior centre light surround, gear stick console surround all painted gloss black, mainly because i think gloss black smartens the inside, it suited my retrimmed grey suedette headlining and a/b/c pillars as well as the rubery coating on the vw dash stuff is pants and always peels off and lets the dash down. i also had to change all the old mk3 gree LEDs to red ones so new LED's were soldered into the elec window buttons, elec mirror button, interior light illumination. i de-locked and semi smothed the boot lid so the mk4 petrol flap release button was wired to pop the boot solenoid.
the recaros took me about 3 months to trim. i would never do anything like that again, lots of freinds ask me but i just cant sacrafice that amount of time again. for me though it was worth the time and effort for the finished look and the priveledge of being able to tell people when they ask "who trimmed the interior" i say i did it myself. :-)
