600bhp ST205WRC Celica GT Four Project
Discussion
Well folks i decided it's about time i documented a little thread to the ST205WRC's progress from pictures from myself and the previous owner Paul Bartolo. My name is Paul obviously and I'm from Northern Ireland but currently living just over the border in Donegal, Republic of Ireland.
Well here is how how it started out when it came in from Japan.
Silver was the standard original colour
And the plain but tacky imo modified interior
Firstly it was the first ST205 (or so i was told) to be running a front mount in the UK and Ireland
Then car got painted Lotus Exige S Chrome Orange and sporting its first set of wheels
The car has had many engine modifiactions done over a long period of time, some have changed as you will see in the next few pics over the course of the build
This is a few quick pics of the last and most recent build
To the most recent but certainly not the last change
The most recent interior but changes will also be done there too, changes that will happen are new reclining bucket seats and flocking of the dash.
The car has had a magazine feature or two over the years and I have been approached to do another in the near future with the girlfriends orange Ford Puma
Few pics of events the car has attended some pics showing the car sporting it's most recent set of wheels 18" Works Emotion CR Kai
Recently the car was taken to it's first outing after the last build and it done me very proud, picking up best performance car and best car overall at the North West Motorshow 2009 to add to the trohies the car has already won over the years.
These are the trophies the car won at it's most prestigeous event back in 2005
Banzai Best Engine Modifications and Best car of show 2005
And most recently 7 June 2009, myself collecting the trophy for best high performance car and cash reward for best car overall

Marf- Turbo is a Garrett GT35 which has been modified since those pics.
Robcrezz- 3sgte was in a Celica long before the it was in the MR2 so my opinion would say the engine in the MR2 is wrong lol, thanks for the comments though
Emicen- I'll have to sit down and get the list of parts needed, most were off the shelf Toyota pieces with some custom pieces. Paul Bartolo did this first on this car, I redone it all there a few months back, it was hard trying to figure out what was what though but eventually got it sorted. I much prefer the macpherson set up for price of parts and handling but it does have its draw backs.

Craig the car hasn't been dyno'd as yet but the last dyno sheet showed 501bhp, since then there was a complete rebuild with alot of newer more improved mods and head and turbo work, the only thing letting the car down is it needs a bigger fuelling system, we estimate the car to be close to 540bhp now @1.45 bar, when the bigger fuelling system is fitted we can run boost in the region of 2.1bar hopefully putting it over 600bhp all being well.
muhuha, no issues showing as yet, i'm not sore on the car and never do harsh launchs, thats where the problems lie when your acting the wack, you'll not be long going through gearboxes when your at that kind of stuff. When i rebuilt the engine i gave the clutch an over hall as the life of it was near its end (best doing it when the engine is out, saving me having to do it again in the near future).
And just for you pumajay

I had the pleasure of being in this car a hand full of times with the previous owner.
Its easily the most awe inspiring car i've ever been around - not just because of the power or colour or anything but because of the work thats went into it from day 1, no corners were cut everything was top notch, second to none, work.
The car is stunning in the flesh it goes like nothing on earth and it has so many custom, one off, mods that the owner to take over from mister Bartolo would have to be an equally creative person.
I'm glad to see the car is still on the scene and being looked after - i didn't know exactly where it went when it was sold.

Good to see someone else here who knows the history of the car, alot of the changes Paul B made to the car were amazing, that amazing I paid a fortune in labour for a tuning company to sit down and decipher things like the custom wiring loom and the macpherson set up on the front on the car, the car is amazing and gets treated like a kid here at home, just how Paul B would have wanted it. I have been in contact with a few of Pauls friends and Yvonne about things with the car and they all have been very helpful. Some day it'll be back across the water, maybe back at Crail were i have pics/vids of the car in action.
