Stunning looking motor, though I have to admit, I'd be tempted to track down a set of the original BBS wheels to go back on it, they look fantastic!
I'm jealous...
Hi Bob, thanks for your comments. I assume you mean the non-metric BBS split rims?Stunning looking motor, though I have to admit, I'd be tempted to track down a set of the original BBS wheels to go back on it, they look fantastic!

They would suit the car better and I would love a set but they are crazy money - like £750 each!
Here's a pic of a US M6 with 18" BBS RS split rims.
It was seeing this car on YouTube that made me decide to get another E24.

I was thinking exactly that, almost word-for-word!Stunning looking motor, though I have to admit, I'd be tempted to track down a set of the original BBS wheels to go back on it, they look fantastic!

Out of interest what does a car like that cost now? Just seen Quentin Wilson on a 5th Gear re-run talking about them on Dave.
Those 18 inch wheels actually look really nice, here is a piccie of an early M635CSi with a set of the metric split rim alloy wheels:
I think they look awesome and set the car off nicely. I know that TRX's are pretty crap by todays standards and are awful in the wet (plus they are about 250 quid a corner) but they just look so good!

I suspect its a combination of the fact that its the drivers side, and over the years gets more load, the fact that the shocks could be better (already done one), there is a badly seated subframe bush that side and also the battery (which is in a word mahossive) sits just behind that wheel.
Oh, and its old
