Comments:
Well I've had my valver for just over a month now. Been driving for 2 years, and wanted a Polo since I passed my test. First time round, I couldn't find a decent 6n for under £1800 so I got a Fiat Bravo to run around in for a year. Next car was a Vectra 1.8 SRi, but sold that because of how much petrol it needed to run. Found this for sale on Club Polo, drove straight down to Chesterfield and picked it up . I know it isn't much compared to the exotica on here, but is undoubtedly the best car I've owned so far.
I've got some Corbeau GTB front seats ready to go in when I get round to it. I've just put the Platin wheels on, and am contemplating whether or not to colour code the centres and get the lips mirror polished. Firstly, I need to raise the rear suspension a little bit though, as the wider wheels are causing scrubbing on the arches when going over bumps.
Eventually, I want to strip it out, install a cage and drop a 1.8t 20vt engine from a Cupra or S3 in there. This won't happen until I finish my Computer Science degree and get a proper job though .
Any comments are welcome (I know not all will be favourable ).
Thanks
Tez

Yeah, I'm in two minds at the moment. I'm going on an industrial placement year starting in August and was thinking of what I could get next summer which would be a bit more performance oriented.
I looked at maybe getting an Elise as a daily, but don't think it would be too practical. A compromise seemed to be to get the engine and chassis sorted on this, whilst retaining some sort of practicality for daily driving. Hopefully I'll have about 7k to spend next summer. Another option would be to keep this as a daily, and get an MX5 for weekends?
Another issue will be the insurance for me. At the moment my car is covered through Brentacre, and they are quite friendly with modifications. My policy is just BHP limited, and anything I do to the car below that limit doesn't cost me anything extra. I enquired about the 1.8t conversion for my car, and the insurance cost wasn't too bad to be honest. Considering I'll be 21 with 1 years NCB.

Or did you mean about the insurance cost? The quote wasn't 7k. That's just my expected budget.
Realy can't belive an insurance company would legally insure a small hatch with a conversion to a bigger/more bhp engine driven by some one that has only one year NCB at only 21. Possibly, but they would want close to what you might earn.
Just re read your original post and see you have had two cars before the polo and have been driving 2 years - only on years NCB. What happened?

Cheers The AFH is the 100bhp model.
The colour is actually Light Green Pearlescent. I made the mistake of getting some touch up paint in Dragon Green without checking the paint code . Apparently it was an extra cost option when new, but is quite rare because it is so similar to Dragon Green, which was free.
