Due to a lot of pressure form a friend I thought I'd post my new car up. Now, I'm fairly daft but not daft enough not to realise the only reason he wants me to post is to sit back and enjoy the ridicule.

So here it is, my 2001 Citroen Xsara VTS. I was in the market for something cheap-ish and fun, spotted this on ebay, went to have a look and struck a deal. It has had two owners, has nearly FSH and just 36k on the clock. Now, the colour wouldn't be my first choice but the condition of the car swung it for me, it really is immaculate.

It actually left the factory in a lovely matt black colour but I though I'd vinyl wrap it in Jewish Racing Gold, as my friend calls it. Enjoy.

Please don't be too harsh, cheers, Max.

No offence was meant towards any Jewish people by the phrase 'Jewish Racing Gold'

The xsara vts is a great car - look how well they have done in motorsport!

Have to admit though i prefer the earlier shape.

Great cars - I so very nearly bought one myself a few years ago.

I was looking at pre-facelift cars, but they all appeared to be in 'metallic piss yellow'.

That looks lovely - shame about the vomit-inducing interior fabric.

Why do Citroen do this?

Am I missing something. Why would you vinyl wrap a car in a colour that isn't your first choice?

Unless you vinyl wrapped the engine bay then there is no way that that car left the factory as "matt black".

I have had a few drinks so if i'm in the wrong you can tell me to **** off. Just a bit confused that's all.

Do they all sit as low as that? Smart motor these but that interior colour is pretty 'odd' to say the least!

They do sit that low. My OH has a VTS and if you keep it above 3500 it really is a lot of fun. They used to say it had 4 wheel steering smile basically the back wheels could turn in a fraction on a sharp corner. The handling is superb but it can be a hard ride. Never had any bother with it but the cloth interior does leave a lot to be desired.

nice car, can i have the engine when you're finished with it...

and the brakes, and master cylinder, and rear beam if that's OK?

for the price these things go for you can't argue. Nothing like as pretty as a 306 though...smile

That engine bay brings back memories. Good buy there, it sure will be fun. Missing a gear and some good looks though to make it really great (I used to have a GTI-6).
