My first car!!!
Discussion
Well, that's it, I'm FINALLY at that age (nearly) where I can hit the road. And so, a set of wheels was in order. This was perfect for me in every way, and I am smitten with it! Okay, so it isn't the most PH car out there, but oh well!! Now, I have to pass my test...
ETA: Please excuse the poor photography and quality of pics. I used my phone! And my finger just fell into the second one...

MILF alert! I'm second in the queue after Dan...
Nice 1st car. When I was learning, I found I preferred driving slightly bigger cars, a Peugeot 207 being my favourite. I guess I liked the feeling of solidity, and it was the fastest car I have driven (even though it was still pretty dog slow).
I haven't bought my own car yet, looking at going halves on an MX-5 with my dad, although I'm not sure he wants anything to do with it! I might end up getting insured on my dad's Seat Alhambra, which would seemingly be brilliant for me, as its massive! Not sure if it would work in practise though.

Only on PH....Great first car BTW, you will now scale the social mountain to just about everybody's best friend now you have a 5 door car! I had a Mini when I passed my test and being 6'2" there was limited room for anyone else
Enjoy it in a couple of years ou can always 'upgrade' to the 225 , 230 or maybe even a R26R

I bet thats your mums car
do you have any pictures?
Damnit man!do you have any pictures?
I just got an identical one (minus the glass roof) for an early 18th pressie (lucky, lucky me!) and every time I go out to it in the student car park I get 'going to fetch the kids? Schools out!' from mates... Ah well, they're all stuck in 50bhp VW Polos and 60brake Clios and Fiestas, so I don't care, I've got 100...
Looks great, I kinda wish mine had the glass roof but, (being a Renault) it's one thing less to go wrong... Yours is the same colour as mine, 'Oporto Red Metallic-Illusion) - orangey red right?

Thanks for the positive comments everyone!!
Are you going to learn to drive in this then without lessons? I had 8 lessons now had a go in the mini before I brought it certainly was rather different to the focus I am learning in was going to go for something more modern like this but would end up going to fast to get any enjoyment out of it just to civilised and easy for my tastes. Still for a first car is very nice compared to the 1.2 corsa's with 16v badges most people my age seem to have lol.

Try going from changing into 3rd gear at 25mph in a 1.3 Corsa CDTI you're learning in to changing up to 3rd at a nudge over 60 in the Pug. Prefer the long gears tbh.Best of luck with the lessons.

Well, I've driven it now Obviously, having nothign to compare it and not having gone faster than 30mph, I can't really comment on the performance But I like it. Very comfy. If a little susceptible to stalling...
Yeah, I can get my Dad's car through the gearbox without touching the throttle and it won't stall, the torque will just pull it along, Mum's car I can do this up to about 3rd gear, but mine if I try in 1st or Reverse it just stalls, the clutch is VERY heavy in comparison to my girlfriends Polo and Mum's 308, Dad's A6 is more in the middle of the lot.greggy50 said:

Nah, I'm just going out in it to learn basic stuff and to work on my technique. My first proper lesson is tomorrow, I'm learning in an '05 MINI Cooper! Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
