Chalkboard / Matt black Skoda estate!
Discussion
Just thought I'd show you how "surprisingly" well the painting of our car went the other day. It's a charity car taking part in the Mongol rally so we don't have to worry about reselling it but I think it has come out quite well. It took us a couple of afternoons some sanding paper, masking tape, a roller, a paint brush and a pot of blackboard paint, and is now what you see below!
This is only the first stage of our transformation, obviously we will be drawing on it with chalk but there is more to come and will post the results later.
Let us know what you think, I'm pretty happy with it and if I had another cheap car of my own I'd probably do it again!

We are going to leave some chalk on the car and see how many cocks get drawn on it over night!
Yeah heat is probably going to screw us over, we did think of that but decided to go for style over function! (well I say style, it is still a felicia estate) Anyway the rally is meant to be difficult, don't want to make it easy by painting in white!

I'll post some pictures of the finish soon so you can see for yourself. We could have taken more time over it and got better edges but generally the finish is pretty good with only two coats. Also we did it with blackboard paint so we could write on it, I'm sure a proper matt black paint would look better.
looks good mate, I did the same for my charity corsa because sticking newspaper to it wasn't working, have you tried writing on it and rubbing it off yet? The texture makes it a right pain and if you rub it down it comes out grey. I was impressed the other day when I came back to it on a street next to the uni and the students had found chalk to write all over it.
