Well been on PH for a while now and thought it was about time i posted.
Unfortunately i haven't got some automotive porn sat in my garage, just a little saxo vts.
Now i know alot of people on here don't really like the saxo for obvious reasons, but if that stigma can be shuck out of your head then it leaves a very very fun car, not the quickest nor the slowest, but some cheap fun.
eventually the car will be used as a track car, but for now I'll have a little fun in it on my way to work and at the weekend.

Luke.

Saxo VTS is a great car, its the muppets that have given them a bad name that people often don't warm to smile

Did the pre-facelift VTS have the same wheels as the VTR then, or have you changed them?

Lovely to see a Mk1 without Lexus lights and some headlight brows on. Miss me old VTR...

Had a VTR as a courtesy car once. Don't see the problem with them if you don't stick Halfords crap to them. Fun little car on tight back roads where anything bigger would be driven a lot slower for fear of scraping the side of your car.

He always says to me 'you love saxos really' and i say no haha, i do like saxo's but as said before is the other idiots that driver them that give them a bad name

Unmolested, they are nice little cars - I think they look pretty good!

Go well too, the VTS, seem to remember it being quite nippy around town but doesnt seem to pull too well at the top end, understandable I guess.

Looks good!

White Saxos rock! For what it's worth, yours would look brilliant with the rub strips colour coded white and the facelift smiley grille.

I had a 106 GTI and I tried so hard to like the car, I would have rather had a white VTS as there's just something about them I really like the look of, and it was quick and handled well. But I just couldn't get on with the offset pedals, sensitive clutch and throttle and flimsy gear change. Actually the whole car was flimsy which I didn't like frown

I've had a couple of 106 rallyes, so I really appriciate how much fun the faster varients of the 106/saxo can be. It looks a nice example as well, good to see one that hasn't been molested and has been looked after.

As you said, some folks dont like them. I cant understand why myself, they are cheap to buy, cheap to run, and cheap to modify. I myself had a VTR S2 when the S2 first came out and it was a great little car. As a standard car they are not the fastest but they do handle well. As with all french small cars the problem with handling is when you hit a corner hard and lift off, they tend to want to let go. The answer to this, is simple dont hit the bend so hard to start with and dont lift off, do the opposite, hit the bend and stand on it even harder, being front wheel drive it will just pull you round the bend.

If you want to lower it, dont do the norm and cut down springs, they are a great platform with there torsion bar rear end, its a couple of simple bolts to unow, remove the end caps and turn the bar and put it all back, job done. The one thing i would suggest for the Saxo is a good induction kit, and exhaust. Get them breathing right and then go for a Map session, the 16v when set up well will screem all day long.

i ve got a couple of things that i am going to do with the handling but not really settled on them yet (not sure if they would be to stiff).
The rear end can play a big help through a bend, dont lift all the way to then allow the back end to steer for you whilst controling it on the throttle.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone! See not all saxo owners are chavs

To be fair, that does look like a smart little car. I would imagine the only people who comment are those who are not appreciative that even small cars can be just as fun to drive as larger cars so don't worry about that!!

The thing with the saxo is they start off look pretty smart for what they are so don't need anything doing to them to make them look nice in the first place. A couple of the pics are good, you should take some more and get more experience playing with the camera to get the most out of it smile

This is my mates old VTS. Original paint, but he kept it this clean through hard work. He was also obsessed with Meguiars. The bonnets a Procomp- Carbon Kevlar and one of five ever made.

If you're going to keep it on the steelies are you going to get some Berlingo centre caps? I believe they're only a few quid each (as opposed to the £10 each that Pug want for ones with lions rather than chevrons frown )
