Been lurking for aaaages on PH now. After inspiriation from other with their car history post's thought i'd give it a crack. Im only 23 so havent got a huge amount of million dollar machines. I am however slowly working through my childhood 'i want' cars....

Things started off like many of my age with a Nova... which was promptly stolen after 4weeks of passing my test... dont have any pics of this. I then went onto a Polo MK3 coupe, purely because it was around the corner. I was young and decided huge wheels were amazing.... the results were erm... mixed! You live and learn...

Then from watch hours of BTCC on tv as a nipper and going to races at thruxton.. i decided that a Cavalier GSI 2000 would look the part... well i used every penny i made plus a hefty loan from father and at 18 bought my first 'quick' car. after 2 weeks, a race with a friend ended up in a lucky escape after hitting a kerb at high speed it was written off... undeterred... i bought another. I had learnt though.. and this one was 4x4!! Circled in red you can even see the other 2WD version still hiding in the garage... took me 18months to part with the wrekage!

Sadly the Head went porus on the 'new' cavalier so after 6 short month i was again after another car.... i decided i had done cav's now.. onto my next boyhood car. BMW 325 sport. Just so turned out that an old guy across the road had an old faded 325 SE with the sport kit... when he said i could have it for £500 i bit his hand off and was the proud owner of my first 6cyl car. the noise they make is amazing.. but 13mpg wasnt great.
Here is a pic with my Best mates Corsa 'TV' feature car.

Sadly again this car only lasted 6 months as it was M.O.T. time... what was a clean but very faded car on the outside.. was indeed very rusty and almost double the emissions barrier... after shelling out £600 on engine parts it was given pride of place in the garage where it sat for the next 18months waiting for me to do anything... to replace this... it was my 21st Bday lucky as i was my dad bought me a lovely 1994 Audi coupe 2L. i was over the moon with it. kept that car for 18months and it never ever put a foot wrong... sadly dont have any pics frown. By this time however i had finished my apprenticeship in Aeronautical engineering and was earning decent money. I decided to get myself my first proper car. So after being advised hot hatch was the way to go and me being a badge snob... S3 was the only choice!!

I loved this in every way. was fast'ish looked good, ladies loved it!! Being audi it never really went wrong only a few niggles but generally an amazing car and i wish i still had it!! While i had the Audi i still had a yearning for that BMW 6cyl noise so when a genuine 325 sport came was offered to me for £200 again.. i had to have it.

Was the bargain of the century but sadly due to not being able to afford the insurance of 2 performance cars i had to let it go after 3 short months of ownership... a HUGE regret on my part as i sold it for £1000.. and it would now probably be worth £3K+

Next Due to having a serious G/F the need for a house has arisen, The S3 had to go to clear the loan and get myself a deposit. Not wanting to get a proper shed i decided that it had to have some character... so again i was in the right place at the right time. I bought myself a lovely '1 family from new' owned Golf Mk3 VR6 at a good price. It had been sat in an aircraft hanger for a year prior to my ownership so was a bit of a state when i got it. But after a bit of elbow grease... here is as she stands today.

Now im upto present day... And sadly the golf is up for sale. My delusions that it would be 'OK' on fuel have been realised and with teh G/F living 50miles away i need something slightly less thirsty. So i have sourced myself an Alfa GTV. so there we have it... golf for sale alfa on the way... onwards and upwards!! hope its not too much babbling on and you enjoy!!

Really good read. It is always nice to have a bit of history around the pictures, so thanks for taking the time to post.
TBH, it's a bloody impressive history for someone so young. I am always too scared of splashing cash on cars, so I love reading about other peoples...
