Passed my test this morning and bought this. OK so it isnt the last word in performance or cool but it is going to be cheap and get me from A to B.

Hopefully get some better pictures tomorrow.

As you would expect from a corsa there are a few mods I want to do!!

They are:

A PH sticker

A Oulton Sticker

Had you worried hehe

Thanks

Matt

Enjoy driving for a year or two then get something fun as the insurance will go down.

How comes you went for the three 12v cylinder model compared to the 1.2 16v 4 cylinder.

Can't be that much difference in insurance?

Good job passing your testthumbup

Nice sensible first car. Keep it like that, be sensible, and get a couple of years no claims on your history, then go for something interesting.

My first car was very similar in spec. I started with a 1.1L Ford Fiesta as it was a nice sensible reliable car that I could afford to insure and run. Building some no claims meant that I could save up and put a 1.6 GTi 205 on the drive for my 19th birthday .... happy days smile

Great choice of first car. They got slagged off when they were new, but have aged far better than their competitors. My missus has a W reg 1.2 16v, which is pretty good for a city car. Noisy on the motorway, but can cruise at 80 (leptons!) with ease. Only mod I would make to it would be stiffer springs, it does roll like a boat, despite gripping quite well.

yes congrats, just remember it is not a performance machine with grip and handling to match so dont drive it like one. its all about the no claims bonus, get 4-5 years and you will be able to insure almost anything.

Good little starter car - and you can't say fairer than that!

I spent far too long tooling around in micras and the like, but they're great for learning the basics of car control and building up a NCB. The fact you have the thrash the pants of them to get anywhere is also vaguely amusing in its own way!

Well done for passing your test...

No matter how much your mates say "get some alloys/tints/subs/bodykits/spoilers/neons/fake cage/lexus lights mate"......

Dont.....Just save up for a nice motor when you can afford the insurance.

Congratulations on passing. As others have said, just run it for two years, you'll be suprised at what you can insure at 19 with two years NCB.

I had a 1.2 8v Corsa for my first car, it was hilariously slow. I think the 1.0 12v is actually quicker, not exactly difficult though
