Brera Got Back!
Discussion
After flirting with the idea of getting a Z4 then an M3 then a Z4 again then looking at getting an old A6 then an A4 Cab then back to a 3 series Convertible I ended up with this! An oil burning fat bummed Alfa.
After driving some good but pretty run of the mill looking cars I must say I still enjoy getting into this everyday. The line of work I’m in involves visiting garages and dealerships, in the past 4 years I’ve probably had half a dozen comments on the car(s) I’ve turned up in. In this I get comments everyday, not all bad either! Re-reading that I realise it makes me sound like an attention seeking gimp but many people are genuinely interested in it and want to have a look around it.
Anyway I love it to bits, although I am aware from reading previous threads on Breras on PH that they do polarize opinion! (How does that song go again?)

Hmm yes, handling. To put it simply it doesn't compare to the 3 series I just got out of. It obviously doesn't help that it's wrong wheel drive. The ‘S’ versions are a lot more focused but suffer a bit for this with reduced ride quality plus they don’t do a diesel ‘S’. One review I read on these prior to buying it commented that it should be viewed more as a GT than a sports car which kind of sums it up for me.
Don't get me wrong, it's not bad besides 90% of my driving is up and down Motorways so it suits me fine. I have had some fun blasts on back roads whilst taking some recent detours it is fun to hustle along and the grip levels are good. But... but it's just wrong wheel drive!

I've heard of the Alpha Wave over on the Alfa Owners Club. How does it go, is it an elaborate Mason style nipple flash, or just a wave?
It's just a wave, but there is a kind of a wierd hierarchy about it, like owners of older classic Alfas don't wave at newer models, and with the newer models the owner of the "better" car waves first.I just waved at everyone in mine.
Check out www.alfaowner.com if you haven't already - it's a great resource.

Have fun keeping those wheels clean
Love these, look fantastic
Cheers, I really wanted the cross spoke wheels rather than the other patterns available on the JTDM, 6 weeks in and they are proving a bit of a pain. I'm going to have to start bulk buying wonder wheels I think. Love these, look fantastic
