had a young lad in a vtr try his luck this morning. bloody pillock dont think he realised what he was going up against. looking at getting a C2 VTS aswell so i can keep my seat milage low any views on these cars?

Bragging about racing is a bit of a no no here.

But as I love the 20vt engine I'll forgive you.

What are you running on it?

sorry frown but i am running a stainless system not to load, pipercross induction, koni coilovers, red in colour with white oz's, and a revo remap to make everything to run as it should smile

Love the red look and white wheels! Pics are a must!

What pipercross? I've heard that anything apart from the enclosed one (viper?) will actually loose you bhp!

Do you know if you have the K03 turbo or K03s?

Personally I love my C2, it's a bit of a marmite car though, the electric power steering takes some getting used too, the rear end can be a bit light at times, but they are great for the back roads, nice and nippy.

If you are looking at getting a petrol VTS make sure you listen for any whistles when it's driven as the intake manifold bolts are known to come loose and sometimes shear off completely.

belive its a ko3s and yer thats right on the induction kit anything thats not encolsed is a waste of time its an encolsed bmc system and i will get some pics up as soon as i get my cam back mad any view on C2 VTS?

Hmm, geen in a C2 GT and was unimpressed TBH. Didn't feel that fast, and handling was worse than the saxo IMO. Did feel far more comfy though.

Will be a LOT slower than a 225bhp Ibiza though.

Ibiza's never came with a K03S and the limit of the turbo is about 190ish bhp, even the K03S equipped cars i.e my Golf struggle to make 225 and for that you usually need all the bolt on mods, i.e full exhaust from turbo back with decat or sports cat, FMIC, larger TIP, Stage 2 remap, 4 bar fuel pressure regulator etc etc....

Not trying to knock your car as it will be quick with the power, but everyman and his dog seems to think that with the 20VT engine you remap it and stick on a cone filter and it makes 230bhp!!!

Unless your car has a K03S fitted aftermarket and then i'll let you off!! wink

no standard turbo and i am going on what the bloke that did the remap said it would be running. might be worth me doing a dyno to find out exacly what i'm running. any ideas where there is a dyno in the nottinghamshire area?

Nah, the K03 can push out 200 on a well looked after engine with the right set up. 225 is optimistic though. Plus it will be running RED hot at 200 after a ragging (open the bonnet, you can see it glow!)

I believe the mk3 comes with a K03 but the later engines in the cupra r mk4 for instance have the AJQ and AUM lumps in them which have K03's and VVT. so your statement is not entirely true

because I forgot to put in something, now leave it alright !!

None of the MK3's came with a K03s as standard. Not even the cupra R.
