Lovely stuff! I used to have one for a while [as did my brother] and really enjoyed it!

How much did the insurance do you in the end?

Thats dedication for you.

Although a banger for a year may have left you less... bankrupt!

looks very nice, great for a 1st car. insurance sounds rediculous though.

the steel wheels are awful.

rubbish!

the steel wheels make the car for me cool

please leave it standard or it will begin to look like a chav wagon.

i do "get a rallye" i dont "get" steel wheels though.

i much prefer the look of the one with the 205 1.9 gti alloys in white.

i am not alone which is why most people put alloys on there, wider and lighter and look much better.

Looks a nice one.

Its a great first car, they handle really nicely, watch out for lift off oversteer though.

Has it got the optional power steering?

Keep the steelies, I love the look of them. Plus my old S1 rallye handled much, much better on the steelies than the heavy 15" the previous owner had fitted.

Looks like a very sweet example! Please look after it and be careful wink

100bhp is a fair whack to a new driver; I remember driving an 8v mk2 golf gti fairly soon after passing and it scared me stless! Still, if you're sensible and respect the car you'll have a lot of fun smile

Looks great! Cracking first car but please don't get cocky. It's a fun and fast little car for an inexperienced driver and lift off can be quite scary if you aren't prepared.

If I'm not mistaken those wheels aren't the originals... smile They look like 306 Rallye 15's?
