Picked this up the other day from a friend's work colleague. He was offered a pittance in part ex last March against a new Mazda so his pride got the better of him and he decided to keep it. In a year it's sat on his Mum's drive getting in the way so I made him an offer to take it off his hands. In 2007 it had a radiator leak which caused it to overheat and warped the cylinder head so it's a had a reconditioned head and new head gasket fitted, aswell as a new radiator, new drive shafts, new exhaust and tons of other things. It cost him over £2000 in bills that year, hence why he wanted a brand new car I reckon.

Went to pick it up and unsurprisingly the battery was dead (less than 1 volt!) but I had a spare in my shed off an old Beemer. With a can of fresh fuel in it fired up on the 5th or 6th turn of the engine - not bad after being sat for so long.

Got it home and gave it a clean, then took it for an MOT this morning.

It failed the MOT on the rear brake pipes being rusty, front indicator missing and a couple of bulbs. Over the weekend I plan to get these bits done and get it retested next week. Once I've given it a good service and a polish I plan to put it up for sale and hopefully turn a small profit. It's got a couple of little dings (in the rear nearside door and offside front wing) but should make a reliable cheap daily snotter for someone.
