Previously owned a Mk1 MX5 for 2.5 years, which I loved, but have ultimately grown out of.

Had this for a couple of months now.

Looked for quite a while to get the right spec, and also considered a 996. I decided that I wasn't quite ready to lose having a convertible so opted for a Boxster, was also a bonus that I'd save about 10 grand on the equivalent age 911! I wasn't sure about the wheels initially, but they've really grown on me and it's nice to have quality rims, they really set the car apart.

Have to say I'm loving ownership so far, it's got so much poke, goes like stink and grips like a limpet! Not as adjustable on the limit as the 5, but in another league performance wise, obviously. It's also a great motorway cruiser for the commute, quiet, composed, great hifi.

Got to be honest I'm not 100% on the rims but that colour and the hardtop look absolutely fantastic.

Picked up my first bit of pork (facelift 986S) a month ago too, but haven't had it for 3 weeks as it's getting a new fuel guage frown

I like the rims! Do all S's come with drilled discs or is than an upgrade?

Cheers for the comments. Yeah when I bought it my first thoughts were "the rims have got to go" but they 've really grown on me, they're fabulous quality (They're Techarts) and now I reckon they look the business.

Went out for a bit of a hoon today across the beacons smile

Worst "i live in a country manor" thread ever, but love the 986 - looks like a very tidy car, congratulations!

hehe

That's a hotel on the way to Eurotunnel.

To answer an earlier question - yes it's standard vented disks all round.

I think the black wheels set it apart from others, looks less hairdressy!
