After 5 months off the road doing general maintenance. It's back on the road. party

Got a few added extras :-

Red walls

Red Rear lights

Rear roof light to fill an old aeriel hole. Wanted a vintage US stop light but couldn't stretch my wallet that far.

And toy horn for giggleshehe

Looks great fun. How useable is it on a day to day basis?

I only really use it at weekends and shortish trips, only because I'm a saddo and don't get to go out to far away places that often hehe . Never let me down yet, so i hope i haven't just tempted fate lol.

Don't really like leaving it it car parks etc due to things like this. Just seems to attract tossers for some reason.

Even though it's lowered it's surprisingly comfortable due to the springy seats. The housing estate i live on is still waiting for the roads to be finished and i must say i'd rather drive up it in the beetle than the van.

Steering is somewhat vague though but adds to the fun biggrin must get that steering box sorted.

Do you do the work yourself?

The only thing that puts me off these is the maintenance required.

I do all the work myself as I enjoy getting dirty hands biggrin. Sometimes by trial and error though and when I get stuck, I have a few good mates I can call on to help me out. Even had the neighbour next door help me out with the electrics the other day ( I hate electrics LOL) who stopped building his decking to give me a hand, much to the disgust of his Mrs. I think I'm becoming unpopular by the day, as he is keeps bugging her for another kit car, having let him have a play in the Westy.hehe

Beetles are relatively easy to keep going so long as you keep on top of things and enjoy tinkering. Got carried away tinkering too much years ago and ripped the whole car apart but that's a long story. biggrin

Problem is I'm becoming tooooo much of a magpie these days and have so many idea's with what I want to do with it, I have to force myself from adding more bits and bobs.
