It's a 16v GTI 'small bumper'

Bought for £950 with 128k, with FSH.

Seen here with ParksofBathgate's E30 318is. Pictures really don't do it justice!

It's £1500 to insure, which is fairly cheap as first cars go.

I'm also 20 with a pass plus

It doesn't have to be fast. Just find something interesting with a small engine and your away!

Try a Mk1 or 2 Golf 1.3, should be cheap to insure and it'll awesome fun on the back roads. thumbup

ETA: Try a 1.4 Volvo 340 as your first car, I was getting quotes of £800, so it should be accessible for you. You'll love wet roundabouts.

I had a Mk2 Golf 1.3 as my fist car, looked great (big bumpers, Gti interior, lowered, borbet alloys) really slow but solid (4 speed and 55 bhp! aah the old days!)

Good first car and easy/cheap to maintain.

Have a look at the Golf Driver models - basically GTI without the engine and thus insurance!
