I realise that the humble VW Beetle isn't exactly the most popular car on this site, but after years of hard work, i thought i'd post it up!
It may handle badly, have the performance of a ZX Spectrum and the soundtrack of a sewing machine, but on the right day, in the right weather, it's a great place to be!
Hope you're not too offended....
Sorry for my fat ass in this one!

It's now looking a bit more standard, right hide and wheels back to how they should be as we were getting fed up of crashing over every hole in the road.
The engine is a twinport 1300 out of a later car, so not quick at all, although we are about to rebuild.
I did get a 1776 engine built by Keith Seume a few years back (you may have heard of him) but that was sold before it had a chance to go in the car.
Thanks for the comments!

Keith Seume is he still running Volksworld and various mad dragsters? I used to spend far too much pocket money in the early 90's buying Custom Car when he edited that then added Volks World when he moved there. I would love one but the one i tried with an OE steering wheel, i couldn't actually sit in it and get my feet onto the pedals . And i'm only 5'11 though rugby has kind of morphed my body to a stupid shape.
Anyway lovely car, are they Flat Four, BRM replicas?
I think Keith Seume left Volksworld a few years back and started up his own mag, can't remember the name though.
Pretty sure he used to, or still does, write for a 911 magazine.
The BRM's were the cheaper MWS versions, couldn't afford the Flat4 versions at the time, and certainly couldn't afford the genuine 60's magnesium wheels!
It currently has solid steel wheels from our (me and my dad) '65 1200 fitted. the 1200 is the next project. this will require about the same amount of work as the white one, new floors, front end, engine re-build and 6 inches of new metal all around the lower part of the body.
Welding is great.

If the outcome is as good as the one you have already it'll look great. I remember getting hooked on the DKP look, nose in the weeds, BRMS, big engine and lovely retro touches. Anyway as i can't fit it's all a dream lolPretty sure he used to, or still does, write for a 911 magazine.

I used to hate Bugs, but now I quite like them!
Yours looks superb
Oh and if you hear of anyone selling a pre 73 project beetle (non snub nose) gimme a shout...even if it needs the ahole welding back in as a mate is looking for a project
