Hi all,

First time posting my car (please be gentle) but I am so happy with the purchase, I had post some pictures. I hope you all enjoy the view!

I haven't taken any pictures yet of the interior as I am waiting to fit a wooden dash.

Specs include:

Hi-lo adjustables + Spax adjustables
KAD quickshift
Smiths auxilliary gauges

Thanks mate. Previous owner replaced all the usual areas of tin worm (scuttle, front wings and panel, outer sills, rear valance) and put it into the paintshop for a full respray. I've had a few Coopers and this is one of the nicer examples I have been fortunate to own.

What's the mileage?

Never driven one but want one more and more when I see examples like yours.

73k with FSH. Although I have to be honest that mileage with these cars is almost immaterial when compared to overall condition. The dreaded tin worm seems to strike even the lowest mileage examples.

Very very nice! Reminds me of my old Cooper RSP (black) I had when I was 18. Same wheels and arches, used to wipe the smiles of many faces round the twisties, never should have sold it!

As above, get some interior pics up when it's finished.

..........................wonders off to the classifieds to look at proper Mini's!!!!

Put some proper sized wheels on it (Pref 6x10") and then experience the handling and adjustability that the mini is renowned for. Those 13" wheels are an eyesore and do nothing for ride/handling or acceleration.

Just have a look at the offsets required to clear the body (7x13") Does the car suffer with Bumpsteer?

Exhaust - And get a single upswept centre pipe. DTM tailpipes = Vauxhall Corsa school of styling or look wi-kid on a dodgy bodykitted 318is with M3 badges on it, innit hehe

Other than that - its ace thumbup

Nah, I'm with FWDRacer.

Once you've played with a Mini on 10's nothing else works on them.

That looks very nice. ^^ Is just what I was thinking. I always Keep an eye on the classifieds to see what's for sale. With the insurance quotes I'm getting at the moment it might be time to sell my current car and get one smile

I both agree and disagree with the wheels thing. My Mini Cooper RSP had the same wheels, looks wise there's no comparison over the 10's, the stance is far better with the 13's. However the handling did suffer slightly when I put the Superlights on mine, but not so much as you'd notice and I've done a fair bit of racing with FWD cars, the real issues started when it rained, que lots of understeer!

Exhaust wise, I think you can get away with the twin DTM on a Mini, the only thing that lets it down is that you can see the rear mounting bracket which spoils it. Mine had a straight through Janspeed, that looked OEM but sounded much better!

Hi all,

Thanks for all the comments so far.

re. 13" wheels, I really like the way the 13" and Sportspack arches look, but definitely agree it is to the detriment of the handling. Of the other Coopers I have had, I much prefer 12" wheels from a driving point of view, but hey, it needs to look the part as well!

The DTM exhaust is a bit 'big boy Barry' for me, not so much in looks, but in sound. I think I prefer a single centre exit exhaust, rolled tip at 2" so it might get swapped over at some point.

I'll get some pics posted once the interior is sorted out with a proper walnut dash and the manky carpets have been replaced.

I have also resized the pics as they were a bit large.

All the best

H
