My Volvo S70 T5

Turned 158k on the clock today. Completely standard running 240bhp from factory.









Oil changed completed yesterday, booked in for cambelt change and other minor fettling shortly.

Mods planned include a very subtle Ferrita or Miltek exhaust to take advantage of the 5-pot exhaust note, and possibly a TME remap once I'm satisfied the drivetrain, suspension and brakes are up to the boost in power.

Can't believe what good value these are now, seriously tempted. Would be going from an MX5 funnily enough, just not sure if all that extra bulk would put me off.....

Handling wise its certainly no MX5, but it makes up for that at 4,000rpm onwards on full boost!

We had one of these on lease at work for a couple of years. It was white, so everyone moved out of the way on the M roads! Taking one of these out when my daily driver was a 1.4 astra was great fun. Great times.

Great Q car and for £1k!

Had a V40 T4 which was again an unknown. My friends laughed until they realised it was faster than all of their cars.

Get rid of the tow bar (unless its being used) and keep it looking standard.

How bad is the MPG and insurance?

Tow bar coming off at Easter. Keeping it on until then just in case I need to tow my MX5 on a car trailer.

MPG is 23-24mpg mixed. Could probably do better if I tried but not too worried on that front - my last T5 managed 26mpg average. Insurance was just over £300 fully comp - I thought this was very good considering I'm 24!

I don't *think* the Miltek exhaust is available any more. Feritta is a good choice though.

Good photos. Looks like the type of shots you would expect to see on the S70 Brochure in its time. I'm 24 too and I pay £470 tpft on my C70 T5, whose your insurer cos I'm up for renewal shortly.

You need to use an Image Hosting company to Host the images. I use picasaweb.google.co.uk but there are lots of others including Photobucket, Imageshack etc.

The insurance company I use is Bell.co.uk.

Hove. I'm hoping to come along to a meet with the South Coast section in April, depending on dates. Not sure if it'll be in the T5 or the MX5 though!
