My 924 back on the road PPC £999
Discussion
Firstly there are some stunning motors on this site and i no mine is no oil painting but it brings a smile to my face and gives me the chance to learn mechanics as i go and scrape my knuckles most weekends!
Bought it about 5 months ago but it was stolen shortly afterwards i finally got it back in dec and have been spending the crhristmas break getting it back on the road and ready for the ppc £999 challenge
this is where we are now at the start:
From here i need to rip out the majority of this
and from here remove
the dated fuel in jection and add
just waiting on my manifold base plate from the manifacturers so i can start to get the manifold made and the fuel pump to arrive.
as you may be aware i am competing in the PPC £999 Challenge at mallory park on may 23rd. so will be removing the interiror and getting it rolling road tuned with new carbs in brimingham so will post up before and after results ect.
i now need to find a weigh bridge to weigh before and after as well any ideas in the dudley area?
also as you are aware i now have the black exip wheels on page 1 but i have also got a set of these due out of the paint shop in a few days in white:
(image just for show mine are 4 bolt fitting)
they only weigh around 6.4kg's each as well so will be good for the comp hopefully.
also any ideas how best to remove the porsche decal from the sides?
cheers
Ben

I'd leave it - got to be worth a couple of mph! If not then heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun a bit first.Any local tip or scrapyard should have a weighbridge, but the bigger ones are only accurate to the nearest 20kgs so not that precise.
right then little update time
changed my mind on the day to day wheels and had them licked with silver last night so they are now a nice pewter colour
also mr posty turned up with my firbeblade fuel pump so now just the manifold bits
dont suppose anybody knows which wire is which on the fireblade fuel pump?

right monday update:
firstly i now have a door handle for the drivers side so no more climbing over when i get round to fitting it (hopefully this weekend.
Do i just have to unscrew the lock part and swap over to the one i currently have?
no down to the more depressing matter, WHEELS
i decided to borrow a wheel to trial fit to see if they will clear the front stub axel and they foul but will only need around 1.4mm machining from the final centre bore edge but now i have to get them made from scrath i am unsure on the colour to go for they were going to be my track day wheels but as i am pushing the car to be more track day i will be using them as my daily wheels as well now thanks to my lovley exip ones not fitting.
so heres the trial fit in matt black
even the dog is getting bored now of my ranting on colour so please help out:
shal i go:
matt black
silver
smoked silver
white
gloss anthracite
please help so i can get them on my car soon

well after bringing the dog to the world he has left me for internet stardom so i have no recruited a new wheel model
these are the new wheels they are et15 and are perfect for track use and then when on the road i plan to use a 20mm hubcentric kit ti fill the rear arch
they will do till i can find some nice dished retro wheels
