My 'Classic' Mini Cooper Sport with JCG S-Works
Discussion
Very nice I would love one like that but seems for a late model you are looking at around 8k
Seems to me with about 3 - 4k to spend I am better looking for an extremely sorted late 80s early 90s car if I fit lol.
Would be interesting to see how the depreciation compares to a similarly priced fiesta, corsa of the same age lol very smart move buying one new if they still did today and I had the money I know I would buy one

Thanks for the comments.
The standard Mini is around 63 bhp, but the S-works kit 'allegedly' pushes that up to 90 bhp, but is more likely 80-85 bhp. It has a stage 3 head, high lift rockers, modified inlet manifold, LCB exhaust manifold, janspeed RC40 exhaust and a few other bits.
The later models came with a long legged final drive ratio to help reduce 'drive-by' noise, but it turned them into a three speeder with a forth gear that was just a volume control. I had the final drive changed back to what it was on the previous minis and this has helped performance even more. If you can put up with increased motorway noise, some of the final drive ratios can produce amazing improvements in acceleration, without the need for some of the other mods, but the engine has to come out to do this.
I'm also a member of detailing world and clean your car. I've always been into keeping my car clean, but the help, advice and products on these sites has taken me to new levels of anorak ownership and helped me take a few show and shine prizes over the last 4 years.
The residual value of these has really surprised me. I bought the car brand new (on a Y plate) for a fiver short of £ 10k. The S-works kit and other bits I've added over the last 8 years has probably pushed the total cost to about £ 12.5k, but you're still paying £ 8k or more from a garage for a decent one of this age, spec and condition. Some of the not so good examples still command good money !!
It's the Mini's 50th Anniversay this year, so I'm looking forward to seeing some exciting new rebuilds on the show scene over the springs/summer.....
Cheers all..

I've had a few other bits changed, but not gone too mad...
Final drive changed to 3.105 (was tempted to go for 3.44, but didn't want my ears to bleed during motorway driving....should have gone for it really and bought some ear-plugs.....!!)
Mini Sport Twin Pin Diff
AP Rally Clutch Plate
Spherical Ended Adjustable Bottom Arms
Heavy Duty Adjustable Tie Bars
Extended Track Rod Ends
Rear trumpets cut down to level out the ride height.
Plus some extra shiney bits on the outside, but essentially only things that Rover offered so it remains fairly standard looking.
Not got anything else planned at the moment...other than keeping it shiney of course...
A Vmax Supercharger or the BMW bike engine head would be a possibility, but me and my wallet are a long way off even thinking of doing that.......

Thanks RodMod.
I've driven every single one of the 43k miles on the clock and loved every minute of it...
I didn't enjoy the first 18 months of actual ownership though. As the poor blighter was forever going back and forth to Rover for numerous 'teething problems'.....but that's a story or another time...
I still get a huge buzz out of driving it and dealing with all the attention it gets......a real pleasure.

I usually go on the Riviera Run, London to Brighton, Southern Mini Days and Mini in the Park. That's usually enough for me, but I'm deciding on what 50th Anniversay shows to go this year. IMM is tempting.....!!!
What about you ??
