new Hot Hatch runaround
Discussion
always wanted one, decided on a whim to get one now and this example came up
60k miles and the bodywork and overall condition is outstanding
they are a hard car to come by now in good standard trim
just need to put the proper badge back on the rear
i'll be using it as a 'test car' as well to do my first ever cambelt and clutch (although it had the belt done 9k ago)

Love 306 Gti-6's ever since my brother had one. Fast, fun, nice seats and I personally think one of the nicest sounding hatches around. Its such a shame Peugeot seem to have lost their way with their current line up of cars. They dont really have any cars worthy of the gti or rallye badge. 306 still looks a nice car on the road today!

If one of these comes up locally with the right mileage then I think I will have it, they have always been on my list of stuff to own and the prices are low now even for a decent one. Looks Great!
that's the problem... not enough of a draw to go looking for onethey are just acheap motor that you want to find in your local papare and be able to go buy with no hassles
unfortunately that's rare though
from teh driving experience so far... i'd say its well worth making an effort though and travelling to get one

Lovely car! Forgive the camera question, but is the bokeh on these real? I suspect it is, and it just made my Leica lust hit new unprecedented levels.
yes, definitely realcertainly not the best bokeh that leica has to offer though
in fact, the 35 lux APSH has been widely criticsed for harsh bokeh
i used to have the pre-asph 35 which had incerdible bokeh and a huge glow of non-image forming light on the image..

Sigh.. I can keep dreaming. I've got the ancient French car bit covered, I'll keep dreaming about the German camera.
M6's are pretty affordable these days and have everything on them you need...and as for lenses there are a ton of older M lenses out there that are dirt cheap.
Ok, so they won't be as sharp wide open as the latest APSH offerings but hey, they were good enough for Bresson
lovely example. I've always liked the silver ones. I recently sold my blaze version and they're brilliant little cars and a very involving drive.

thanks darren
on there already... been popping in for quite a few years no actually on and off
@HCK, i like the 106 as well, hope to own one at some point. 'Effect' is just a narrow depth of field brought about by a wide open lens. Taken on a digital rangefinder in this case. Its the same thing you normally see with longer zoom lenses but you can get it with regular and wide angles too.

Dude, these are great motors, but wouldn't recomend doing your first cam belt change on it, find a nice 1400cc 306 to start, there right pain in the arse on a 6, even when you have it on a ramp let alone doing it on a drive, make sure you have it changed at 40,000 miles as the schedual in the book is wrong, just a bit of friendly advise from a Peugeot Master Technician

ditto the comment above - they do sound very nice at full chat.
PS. nice unmodified example too. Best keep it that way.
Even got the original pirellis on. I found that goodyear eagle F1's were a much better choice for the 6 and the induction noise on them is great. Why I ruined mine with a stupid exhaust I'll never really knowPS. nice unmodified example too. Best keep it that way.
