I got this in December '08. After alot of messing about and fixing stupid little things I finally got it sorted

Its got a 918 Blade bike engine dyno jetted with a TTS filter and full system making about 138BHP at the crank

Weighs under 500kg (475kg so MAC#1 say) giving it about 290 bhp per tonne

Ive had 0-60 in 4.1secs 1 up at 4.5 2 up

After having a few jap cars and loads of bikes I fancied trying something different. Not an everyday car but soooo much fun.

Roll on the summer is what I say (or atleast dry roads!!)

Cobra seats, Original digidash1 giving just about everything Im ever gonna want to know and savage led lights

Team Dynamic lightweight alloys, carbon mudguards, bonnet and dash

Only change ive done is a new Q/R Boss and suede 300mm (was 280mm) steering wheel

On another note.. Can i ask how difficult it is to drive with a bike gearbox/clutch??

(very sensitive clutch? and gearbox? do you rev match each shift?)

I keep looking at them.. But I'm put off by a few small things.. Mainly to do with test driving frown I'm still 19 for a start so I think most people will tell me to fk off!

Gearbox is easy. If you know bikes then its really simple. You push forward for 1st and then pull back to go 2nd, 3rd etc. It always goes back to the middle. The speed you can change gear is amazing considering your essentially in a car!

You dont need to match any revs. Mine will pull 6th gear from about 1700rpm at 25mph right upto top speed if you wanted. The clutch depends on how well its setup. Mines brilliant and can be driven like any car. They do tend to need a little more slip or revs due to the lower torque though but you'd see what I meant if you drove one

This one was from Piston Heads classified. Im 26 and pay £190 a yr fully comp insurance ;-). Tax is also only £115 a year!

Had my first 'real' experience of how quick it was recently against a 400RWBHP R33 GTR. Mine was quicker to 80mph by some car lengths - for me enjoying the roads and track thats what its all about!

With a bike engine and gearbox pulling 500+ kilos around how long do they usually last for? The yellow and black combination looks very nice.

Erm, well I havnt had it long enough to know. The Honda Engines are strong from what Ive been told. Mine had done 2991 miles when I collected it.

I think the clutch needs to be uprated - the basket and springs are a little soft/weak in std form. The engine and 'box seem fine though.

Service it engine wise like a bike and it should clock up a fair amount of mileage before you get any wear/breaks

Go for it! I bought mine last June and apart from the test drive (with some coaching from the owner) my first proper drive was all the way from Ripon to Portsmouth in the pissing rain. Loved every minute biggrin Yes you will stall it a few times, usually when trying to get into a traffic gap, but I don't think it's any worse than learning any other performance car. Plus people are very forgiving as they are to busy staring at the car to notice you've stalled!

Yeah Id never driven one and picked it up 260 miles away. Quite erm entertaining to say the least.

Ive stalled mine twice through being lazy. Its not difficult to pull away you just need to be more precise. You cant be lazy like most modern cars

Id second that on going for one though. They are silly fun!

Final question.. As well as a bit of a bump redface

In terms of servicing and maintainance do you do it all yourself?

I don't think I would have an issue with general servicing, would probably even do other things but who would you go to if it did die and you didn't have a clue what was up?

car indy/bike?/specialist exist?

Depends where you are. Being a huge beginner mechanically, I rely on a mechanic mate and try to learn as I am going along. Engine wise hasn't been an issue yet, but a bike place would help I am sure in the short term, and there are plenty of people with the knowledge on here and on Locostbuilders who are always willing to lend a hand or talk you through it. If you are "oop norf" there does seem to be a lot more Kit specialists about than here "dahn sarf" wink
