Morning all,

Its about time i posted some pictures of my current car, my E36 328i Sport Coupe.

I bought the car back in March 2008 on 76k miles. I have enjoyed adding another 10k since then. I have found the car to be fantastic, i have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Since i have owned the car i have put it through an oil service at a cost of £150, I have replaced the two rear tyres and it has sailed through an MOT. It has been very reliable.

Here's some pics of the car itself.

Future plans?

Personally i think these (especially the 328i sports) rolled out of the factory looking great. I have no real plans to change anything. The wheels could do with a refurb as the laquer is peeling and the bolts have corroded. That seems to be a common problem with the RCs.

Other than that there is a stone chip on the bonnet and two 50p size patches on the rear bumper behind each rear wheel where the paint has come off. You might also notice from the pics that the front bumper of the driver's side has dropped and is not sitting flush. I will sort that too.

The interior is a black leather sports version. It has a bit of wear on the drivers side bolster, but nothing a bit of treatment shouldn't sort out.

I searched for a while for one of these and eventually found this one via pistonheads and am very pleased with it. I am fighting the urge to get an E46 M3 at the moment though

Friend has a 323 version of the same car, lovely cars thumbup

Would recommend having the RTA bushes checked (known to fail) and if you can get the lower front bushes swapped for concentric polybushes, it sharpens the steering feel right up with minimum increase of road noise

Very nice - look so much better without the rear spoiler.
Sounds like you'll be avoiding the tat that so many of these end up wearing.

325 manifold boosts power a fair bit I believe, friend has one (non sport though) and says they were restricted for some reason or another

Very nice. I've fancied one of these as a daily driver for quite some time. But they are virtually impossible to find in a good and un-chaved condition.

Awesome! These are my favourite of all the E36s; I just think they look 'right'. Please don't modify it! Especially not any M3 bits (mirrors, wheels, spoiler!). I would get the 328i badge back on the boot lid, tho'. Tell the world about your lovely straight six!

Something to do with German tax apparently, slight tax break for cars under 200bhp i believe.

and £150 for an oil service!? do the job yourself, its a piece of piss!

I can understand wanting to get it done by someone else, I'd like to maintain all the stamps in my service book and don't fancy getting under the car etc etc. However, my ex-main dealer local indie does it for £60 with the correct O.E. oil and filter. I can't imagine the saving of doing it myself would be significant on that.

Great looking 328 Sport! So nice without a rear spoiler and in it's un-molested condition.

Filter from GSF: £5.10 delivered
6.5l of 10W40: £9.50 (£7.29 for 5l)

Plus I can let the old stuff drain out overnight and know the job's been done properly. I don't mind getting my hands dirty for £45.

Fair enough! The oil is a LOT cheaper than I expected.

325 throttle body and manifold are indeed the way to go. Not quite a direct swap but an easy mod none-the-less. The 328 does indeed have a large restrictor on it to artificially lower the peak power for tax reasons at the time. That said, you have to look beyond the power figures because the 328 feels like a much more muscular engine than the 2.5 and is more economical too.

Lovely car by the way. I really enjoyed running mine. Those wheels are ruinously expensive to refurb if they ever need it but well worth it!

As mentioned by a few people above, i took the car to have its oil service done for continuity of the service book and because i do not have a clue how to do the job myself!

The wheels definately need a refurb, i have already been quoted around 250 quid to do this... I will have to pick up some new bolts as well. I will definately get that done though, i think that would make them look so much better.
