Touch wood, the only car I have had broken into was one of my first cars, back in 2003...

They didnt take anything as nothing was on show, it was parked outside uni and a chav in a hood was seen doing it and was chased by one of the guys who worked in the office opposite. Unfortunately he got away. Damn near ran past me as he was getting away as I turned up 5 mins later to see the kind gentleman from the garage putting some tarpaulin stuff over the hole.

Twas a pain in the arse at the time I can tell you.

Funny thing was, I called the AA and they came out - they then told me that they werent insured to put a working car on their low loader, or some such story, meaning that they couldnt take me home - I was unwilling to drive it until it was cleared as a) I didnt want glass in my eyes and b) I was unwilling to sit on glass or brush it off where I was due to not wanting to damage the leather.

The guy came out, informed me that I would need to open the bonnet and pull something out so it wouldnt start and he could then take me home.

Legend.

Luckily haven't had a personal car broken into but had the ambulance broken into whilst attending a patient in his house, and the phone's, radio's and a kitbag stolen, and the satnav was badly damaged as well.

Thats disgusting. There was an article in one of the local papers not too long ago about a sat nav going missing whilst the medic was attending to a fatal car accident. These people have absolutely no conscience.

Not the first time it happened in this area, and i'm sure it's not the last time i'm affraid.

And in most cases they seem to go for the satnav system, not knowing once they remove it from the ambulance it will be worthless as the satnav is linked to our terrafix (computer where the jobs come in on, and saves all the mobile/leaving times etc) and has it's own software written for it. So you can't use it as a normal satnav.

And stealing our kitbags in no use either as all the expensive drugs is stored in actual safes in the vehicle's.

Sometime ago I was driving my Peugeot home in the winter and a heater pipe split filling the car with steam and blowing up the Pioneer stereo had to drop all the windows to clear the steam. Parked up outside the house and during the night some knob broke the rear quarter light to get in not noticing I had left the front passenger window open by mistake! He then proceeded to steal the faulty stereo removing it carefully even unplugging the leads but leaving my CD's (obviously not to his taste!!!), unfortunately breaking the rear window he cut himself and police caught him with DNA he had done 7 cars that night. Paid me £240 in total by instalments for the knackered stereo and broken window before he got locked up again and the payments stopped, there is some justice in the world!!.
Also got car jacked in a friends Porsche but that’s another story!!

I had my first car broken into whilst at work in Liverpool, they robbed the radio, but it was a nice clean job, The car was a (new at the time) Citroen AX, the front quarterlight was pushed in and with glass mainly on the floor as opposed to all over the seats, the radio was lifted without any damage to dash or wiring. 2 years later I'd traded up to an AXgt and was living in Norwich, where the local scallys did a botch job, putting glass everywhere, bending the door frame and puting deep scrapes in the dash, ended up costing me loads for bodywork and paint rather than just glass - amateurs!!!
