Both My Cars - Datsun 120Y and Colt Mirage
Discussion
Since Xmas day consists of me and my cat, I always go out to get some car photos. So first up is my 1976 Datsun 120Y. You may already know the story - bought it on ebay unseen, turned out to be solid and in great condition and I have completely fallen in love with it. Was fully undersealed from new so only has a few spots of surface rust. The bootrack is also a factory fit option, it has 40k on the clock and it might be the original dealer sticker in the back window. Not bad for £700!
I've added some aftermarket wing mirrors and have some new wheels going on soon. Other than that, I'll change the steering wheel, get the door resprayed and leave it at that.
It was also featured in Classic Car Weekly
Second it my Mitsubishi Colt Mirage. I only took it as a part ex but has proved a nice little car. Not really that keen on the wheels but other than that it's a nice looking little motor.
Colt will be put up for sale soon, I'm off to New Zealand towards the end of next year so would like money in the bank. The Datsun will have to go as well

120y makes me giddy!!! want one!!
Really? I had a '77 one as my first car.Tought me way too much about rust treatment, and also got me well into tail-happy handling. Considering they were quoted at a mere 70bhp, the back end obviously had no interest in sticking to the tarmac.
Although any still on the roads are likely to have little in the way of rust issues. Handling will still be entertaining though.
